i think they suprise us when they show us what the revo can do.

the controller is greate , some people say it sucks , maybe the said that becouse they dont know the potential of it,the console is the best looking of all three , and he's hardware is only 10% or 20% with less power of the ps3 and xbox360 but this doesnt matter , we finally can play games in a different way that is what i like.
Online gaming is free , they said too that u can download for free the old games,so what u want more????

:D i think when it finally comes out all people who said that the revo sucks , they change mind , maybe they dont buy it , but they say , the revo is greate!!!!! :D

people will have more fun on the revo!!!!!!the fututre said that a lot of games coming out for it!!!!!!!!
I think we will have to agree to disagree. I do not see a comeback in the cards oh swamy....

Will the xbox 360 be backward compatible?

From all accounts I have heard it will be backwards compatible with some games not sure which.

I voted XBOX 360 but will more than likely buy them all. But of course I will still probably play my atari 2600 more than any of them.

the x05 will be compatable with all xbox games, but for some you may have to download a file off xbox live. all of the most popular xbox games are backward compatable.

Revolution for sure

I'll defiantly be looking forward to the revolution. :D

The PS2-XBox-GameCube generation has been to most disappointing to date. They didn't offer anything new gameplay wise (although I'm not saying they were total flops, as some of my favourite games were Soul Calibur 2, Smash Bros Melle, and Burnout 2/Revenge). I mean I remember buying 27 games for my N64 (and I didn't even have a job at that time), because the system gave nearly every game something new that hadn’t been done. Now I earn heaps of money with no bills to pay, and I've only bought 8 games for gamecube, and 3 for x-box (7 which I enjoyed) because there is nothing out there.

I actually almost favour the fact that the Revolution has lower specs than the 360 and PS3 - It will encourage developers to focus on gameplay rather then wasting time on eye candy and overly large scaled levels (like San-andreas, I mean it's boring as hell just diving from one side of the map and back again).

The new revolution controller will allow developers to come up with new ideas. If you get off on great graphics and lame gameplay (cough...Doom3), that's fine. But I honestly don't think anybody who dislikes the Revolution have actually thought of the controller's possibilities. I mean:

- Fighting games/Platformer RPGs - more then just button mashing. The controller becomes your character's weapon.
- Sports games - your controller becomes the baseball bat, tennis racquet, basketball, javelin, ect.
- Ol skool platformers - can be played with one hand. Great when you're tired and all you want to do is relax.
- First-Person shooters/Light gun games - merged into one (although I don't know why they didn't this earlier). It's surly more fun then a mouse or control stick to aim. Also remember, the revolution knows the exact angle of the controller, so shooting distant enemies will actually be an actual challenge (haha, your big screen TVs won't save you now). Could you imagin if HL-2 was released for Revolution - think of the blue gravity gun!

- And sooo much more - I'm just getting tired, and realized how stupidly biased this message is getting. But I just don't see what the other consoles are providing...yeah, the PS3 and 360 will be good...you can PAY for X-Box live...and they act as a media centre! Oooo!!! *sarcasm*

Nintendo are the only ones who get it. :) High processing power no longer equals better gameplay. I'll probably end up getting a 360 or PS3 (if a good game is released for them that doesn't make it to PC), but not both because they are the damn same!

I agree with you 100% KirbzStar, the only games I buy are the ones that allow coop. Most of the games for xbox have been very dissapointing. I have only played a few a games that brought much enjoyment to myself when playing alone. Even boring games are enjoyable when I have my friends over. Without coop I would probally rarely play my xbox. So far most fun has been serious sam coop, to bad the made ss2 non coop they lost my $$.

It's amazing. Looking back through this thread shows just how many folk are writing off everything but the PS3. Oooo, PS3 will have SACD. Oooo, PS3 will do 720p. Oooo, PS3 will do Blue-Ray discs.

Um, sorry folks, you are currently in...

i dont like the idea of the revolution controller.. too much effort :p and imagine trying to play then knocking over stuff in the way just so u can shoot something.. i like the idea of siting in a chiar or whatever and swearing at your friends as opposed to swearing at the coffee table for being make out of such hard wood...

i do agree with 1 part of kirbz ESSAY on the godlyness of the revolution, it doesnt matter how powerful a system is, its the games that really pull someone to a system. ex. me, i'm a halo fan.. which console am i going for.. TAKE A GUESS!! i really dont care that the ps3 is (supposedly) more powerful. OOOO BLURAY DISCS :O!!! MAXIMUM CAPACITY OF 54 GIGS.. no game is that huge.. and thats if you dual layer it which sony is too cheapass to do.

anyway.. the xbox 360 comes out tomorrow, im getting it on wedns day kuz im too damn busy tomorrow to pick one up and theres gonna be soo many feces flying in the air of stores to be able to get one tomorrow...

ps3 people... have fun waiting 6 months :D

revolution people... have fun waiting (they havn't really set out a date have they?)... longer than the ps3 people :D

choose the system with ur favorite games, thats all im gonna say......

for now..

by the time the revolution comes out everyone would have already blown their money away on the xbox 360 and the ps3.. nintendo will probably do better this time around considering that the gamecube crashed and burned.. then they tried to fill in their empty words by have 5 online games.. while xbox was near full online, same with ps2 (which had a year head start..)..

I will go with the 360 because I simply do not trust Sony. Yes, the PS2 was a great system, but Sony has become to paranoid for its own good and is practicing bad business when it comes to copyright protection on its products.

It pains me to support Microsoft any more than I have to, but the 360 is a very well built system and it looks to be more user friendly than the PS3. Also, I have read somewhere that the 360 will be able to play HD-DVD's with some type of upgrade. Personally I think Blu-Ray is dead before it even gets started because of all the support for the HD format. It is a shame though because Blu-Ray does have superior technology compared to HD-DVD. Oh well, all I can say is down with Sony because I do not trust them as a company!

I forgot that everyone in the world votes in this forum. The concole can change all it wants, that fact is the games will remain the same. They will look better, but the XBOX games will still suck. All their driving games BLOW, Nintendo and Sony know how to make a good game. Microsoft can make a great (questionable) operating system. I'm sorry but operating systems are not that fun.

Regrets, :p

Sheep, ummm Sony isnt the one making the games. Some yes all no.
I for one will get both systems. Perfect Dark Zero is an amazing 1st person so take that for what its worth. PS3 has yet to be released so the proof is in the pudding. I just wish I had bought 2 xbox 360's and sold 1 on ebay. I think Ill do that with the PS3.

LOL

Okay, let's take this one step at a time...

1) Sony's "paranoia" about copy protection doesn't mean a damn thing to gamers. When you buy a PS3 game, it WILL work in your PS3, guaranteed, no matter what kind of protection they have on it. The only time this will become a problem is if you try to pirate the games.

2) The 360 will not be able to play HD-DVDs. The only "upgrade" that could possibly do that would be replacing the entire disc drive with a new one. Which would run several hundred dollars at the least. Besides, why would you want to? Which brings me to...

3) I don't know what you've been reading about Blu-Ray vs HD-DVD, but your numbers are bass-ackwards. It's Blu-Ray that's quickly becoming the dominant format. Hollywood is almost entirely behind Blu-Ray now, while HD-DVD has only one studio that's still exclusive. And since several other HD-DVD-aligned studios are also supporting Blu-Ray, that one studio (I think it's Universal) will probably soon join in. Which means it'll be HD-DVD that's missing studios and movies, while Blu-Ray will have everything. That, and as you said, it's the superior technology, and people are quickly figuring that out. The "war" hasn't even begun yet, and Blu-Ray already has a commanding lead. HD-DVD's days are numbered.

As for "not trusting Sony as a company", what difference does that make, really? Their stuff works... I enjoy the hell out of my Sony DVD player, and my big-a$$ Sony surround system. As long as their products hold up, I could care less what the company does. As I mentioned above, as long as you play your DVDs on a DVD player, and your PS3 games on a PS3, there's nothing to worry about, no matter how many chastity belts are strapped onto the discs. It's only when you try skirting the edges of legality will the protection bite you in the rear, and that's what it's designed to do.

i'm not so sure about your hollywood comment, when you go into an electronics store and look at the dvd section, what kind of discs are there?

plain dvd's..

i agree with runninkyle17's paranoid comment about sony being paranoid, it seems like they have, looks like they're loosing enough money to actually care about piracy, or just not making enough money.. I also do not trust sony's console, yes the ps2 was sucessful but i dont trust the ps3, i didnt like the ps either... however i do trust sony's other electronics like tv's and dvd players.

the xbox was extremely glitchy when it first came out but we all learn from our mistakes, well unless we're mentally unstable or incapable.. but Bill Gates may say strange stuff but he's got enough brian matter to test the xbox360 for glitches this time around, as for sony and their ps3.. im not so sure it'll be a solid system (but its damn huge).

i don't care if sony's switching to bluray discs, i personally feel its a waist of money, non of their games are going to be 54 gigs.. well not for this generation of games. I think plain ol' dvds'll do the trick, maybe hd-dvds. but if microsoft wants to change their disc drive i've got.. doesn't future shop have a 1 year warrenty or something? well ive got a solid 90 days to swap for the new one, ill probably be getting an extended warrently so if need be, hd-dvd's'll be my pal

How can you not "trust" a console? What, is it going to slip into your room at night and slit your throat? It's a box, with a bunch of circuits inside. It's not really much different from any other piece of electronics.

And Blu-Ray isn't necessarily a waste of money. It doesn't matter if games don't get up to 50GB.. as long as a game is 9.1GB or larger, the BD disc will be required. And that's something Microsoft can never do, even if they do eventually release a version of the 360 with a new drive.. because of the DVD-based 360s that are out there now, ALL 360 games MUST be on a standard DVD, period.

Going back to the format war thing, you really ought to try reading around the internet sometime. HD-DVD is already dying, everybody knows it. Except you, apparently.

You trust the Xbox after they made a crappy first round console while my PS2 still runs perfectly after 5 years? You must drive a domestic car....

As for the games. PS2 had the good games. Face it. The companys making Play Station games will be making PS3 games. They are not transferable between Xbox 360 and PS3. I'm getting the PS3. The Xbox 360 is not the greatest invention either. Its a computer that doesn't run a operating system. Atleast Sony is trying to impliment new and more advanced technology.

Now, No man, and the others boo hooing about the PS3. You made this thread asking people to choose and state why. It's not your thread to get people to choose, and then you attack them. Respect opinions.
