I Voted For The 360 Because I Already Have One Reserved And Payed In Full. I Like All The Capabilities In Both Systems However I Think That Xbox Should Have Included A Hd-dvd Rom Since Ps3 Has A Bd-rom Just To Further Crush The Competition

i was at eb games yesterday and I asked how much the x60'll be and he said CD$575?!.. yea I heard US$299.99, which is about CD$360... eb games has a tendancy to rip people off... like when you sell games to them, or systems, they give you nothing..

I pre ordered at EB in store. After the pricing was released for the online models I enquired if the same package schemes are being used there. I was told (as far as she knew) that the pre-orders were for just the higher priced system but I could change it to the lower. The Higher priced is $399 but if you wanted the chepaer system they would change the order. So its the same price as released by Micro$oft, so maybe its just your store??? Are you in Canada?

yeap, canada. I know the cheaper version is 299 USD, the more expesive one is 399 USD, but I plan to get the cheaper version, which is 299 USD (359.21 CAD), I just dont get why it would be 575? The $399.99 USD version of the box is 478.99 CAD. Unless it comes with a game and extra gizmo's its not worth it. I'll ask around other stores, or just go south and get it in America, I live in winnipeg so its no prob

i was lurking around xbox.com.. there's been quite a bit of confusion regarding the wireless network adapter:

"Xbox 360 Wireless Networking Adapter. With this, gamers can chat with friends and play games via Xbox Live, as well as stream videos and music to Xbox 360 from a Windows XP Media Center Edition 2005-based PC, all without the clutter of wires (estimated retail price $129.99 CDN/ $99.99 USD). "

For the official pricing go to:
CND:
http://www.xbox.com/en-ca/leipzig2005/default.htm?level1=encahome&level2=hero&level3=leipzig (canada only article, look at it even if you're in the US)
http://www.xbox.com/en-CA/xbox360/xbox360console.htm

USA:
http://www.xbox.com/en-US/xbox360/xbox360console.htm

IMHO, get the 399USD/499CAD version. A 100 dollar difference, but $250 extras that the core doesnt have.. 150 dollars free stuff

Stuff the bundle has that the core doesnt:
-Wireless controller (core has wired)
-ethernet cable
-headset
-20 hard drive
-Component HD AV Cable
-Media Remote
-Xbox live silver on the hard drive (don't know how you're going to get it without the hard drive, on the system specs -or anywhere on the xbox site- it say nothing about any flash memory.. have fun with the idea but..if you're right, you're right - if you're wrong, you're skrewed :D )

hmm.. the bundle (thats costs 399usd, 499cad) is cheaper to get in america. Reason being $399.00 CAD = $479.90 USD, but you have to incorparate gas, which has skyrocketed pas $1 per L, 2.19 per gallon US?.. still cheaper for you guys..

adding on to my last post about the xbox 360:

I just found this out, the hard drive that comes with the premium bundle has Pre-loaded high-definition bonus content, which is great if you have an hdtv.

hmm the memory cards seem a bit pricey.. do you think I could just save game files onto my mp3 player and use it as a memory card? or are they specially designed for the xbox 360? (they shouldn't be considering you can transfer files to and from your computer so it should be compatable)

anyone: Do you think that an mp3 player can be used as a memory card for the xbox 360?

No, it can't. Either the hard drive or the official memory card, that's it.

is this a "I'm 100% sure and I found this info on a site."
or "I think."

Im just wondering because you can hook up an mp3 player and send it songs that you ripped off a cd, so why not save a game save file on it.

Because the games aren't programmed to recognize an external USB device as a save unit, that's why. And yes, it's a "100% sure and I found this info on a site" thing. If you actually went to a videogame website like Gamespot or IGN, and read up on the many hundreds of articles about your favorite console, you'd already know all of this, and you wouldn't have to keep asking these questions.

And it would also save you the trouble of posting information that the rest of us read weeks ago.

For all those in canada, you can preorder your xbox 360's at future shop.ca

50 units on August 31 (tomorrow), and 10 units per day untill September 8th. Price: Not stated

Personally, I'm just going to wait until it hits the shelves

heres an idea for you: Those stores are America bound-they're not in Canada- and some people don't know. Not everyone know all this.

What stores? I never mentioned any stores. Those are news sites.. and the news they publish isn't region-specific. The Americans are not getting a different Xbox360 than the Canadians, you know. The specs for the system are locked.

I was simply pointing out the news sites in the off chance that you might actually want to read them for yourself rather than depending on other people to read them for you and to simply regurgitate old news at your convenience.

Were there any other questions you wanted answers to?

sorry, I just skimmed through your last post, I thought those were stores, and because I don't see them here, I assumed that they were america bound.

I didnt really hear of them because I don't really like 3rd party sites. I like official sites as opposed to site that may have false or incorect info.

Well, it seems I'm getting a lot more info from the third-party sites than you are from the official ones. It's been my experience that official sites dole out news in very small quantities, and usually at least a week later than everyone else. Not to mention the message boards, where you get the news pretty much as it happens. This place isn't a video game forum, you're simply not going to get the same information here.

well some sites dish out lots of rumors that turn out to be fake, I do go to some third party sites, but the majority of my info is from the official sites. I cant wait till tomorrow, when future shop releases their prices for preordering a xbox 360 :D
