Again there's no realistic way to regulate healthcare claims/denials based on diet and lifestyle unless the person is open about it. That I'm aware of. That's what I was getting at. Life long smoker the signs would be there.
And his "So, just give up on getting people to try to be more healthy?" is a straw man as countries with universal healthcare tries hard to improve diet and lifestyle of the population but for sure that is not easy.

He just doesn't want universal healthcare that is proven to cost much less and give much better health outcome for the general population. The statistics are there for all to see but he just ignores that, like so many others, with much unnecessarily premature deaths and suffering as a result.

I’m looking forward to his execution.

Easier said than done. Like we do such a great job today. ;)
I recently had a very good friend develop paranoid schizophrenia (runs in his family) and I had the pleasure of taking him to the nuthouse hoping they would at least get him medicated and in his right mind. They agreed to keep him for an extended stay but apparently it’s illegal to medicate the clinically insane against their will. They are are completely batshit crazy and it’s against the law to get them in their right minds nd so that they can make a decision on if they want to be sane or insane. I get that there’s arguments on both sides of this but common sense tells me getting someone to a point that they can somewhat think straight to make an informed decision about their mental health is probably a good idea.
