It seems like only Win7 OS is working for this HDAudio-bitstream.

Others have reported that Vista does not work at all, and once they changed to Win7 it worked perfectly.

I also have the Sapphire 5750 1GB card & PDVD9Ultra+Patch.

Thanks for confirming.

The audio output format need to manually select during BD playback to output as non decoded high defination audio pass through to AVR. This is kind of manual tedious process i don like about it. QUOTE]

Suprisingly last nite when i watch Ironman BD, the DD TrueHD automatically bitsream and and display DD TrueHD at AVR without the manual audio output selection during playback. Will try another movie tonite and see it works the same.

Same here.:D

First, I did a fresh install of Win7-64.
Then Radeon 5700 drivers.
Then PDVD9Ultra + Patch.
Then Virtual Clone Drive.

But still no "Non-encoded High-definition Audio" option.

Then did the FIX (onkyo 906.inf) which was given on the AVS site.

Then it was a beautiful site.:D

That infamous "3rd option" appeared and I was bitstreaming DTS-HD MA & Dolby TrueHD.:D

Then I unmounted VCD and mounted another movie. And it was still bitstreaming HD-audio; I did not have to manually reset the "3rd option".:D

So for now, I have to conclude that you must use Windows 7 and if your receiver is a Denon (or Sony), you must use that Onkyo 906.inf fix.

Come to think of it, I will also try to see if my ATI4850 card can do the same under the same conditions.:D

For me, although I did not have to re-select the "NON-ENCODED HIGH DEFINITION AUDIO" option, I still have to click on the AUDIO TAB and click OKAY. Then it would bitstream DTS-HD MA or Dolby TrueHD.

So it's "half-way there".:D

I have watched an entire movie now with the new setup (Win7-64, PDVD9U2320, ATI5750, DTS-HD MA) and it worked beautifully.

I was able to unmount & re-mount Virtual Clone Drive repeately without any problems.

Apparently, it is extremely important to do a FRESH INSTALL of Windows 7.:D

Glad you finally got it working, I hope I don't have to change any .inf files for a Yamaha receiver. How does bitstreaming sound compared to just letting the software decode and output PCM?

I think Yahama is fine w/ this.

I've only heard of Denon & Sony having issues. I think 100% of Denon users have this issue.

I guess Cyberlink and/or ATI must think that nobody uses Denon receivers. I'm offended.:D

But the .inf file is extremely easy to implement.

I am 100% certain that the bitstreaming sounds a lot better than PCM on PDVD9 - at least for me.

However, on TMT3, the PCM sounded just as good as the DD and DTS bitstream.

Well, boys, I tried again on the 4850 card.

But it just cannot be done.:D

That "non-encoded high-definition audio to external device" option will not even appear unless you have the Radeon 5xxx card.

New revelation

Well, I just found out something else.

When I rip just the main movie with just ONE soundtrack (DTS-HD/TrueHD), then mount the ISO file with VCD, the DTS-HD MA & Dolby TrueD come on automatically!

I've done this with 10 different blu-rays now and it has worked 100% automatically.:D

That's great news, since that's what I do with all my blu rays anyhow, it saves a lot of hard drive space doing it that way.

Yeah, it appears that when the movie (main movie only or entire disc) only has ONE available soundtrack (DTS-HD or TrueHD), PDVD9U will AUTOMATICALLY play that DTS-HD or TrueHD soundtrack.

If the movie has more than 1 soundtrack, then you have to click that AUDIO tab and click OKAY.

So far, I've bitstreamed DTS-HD MASTR, DTS-HD HI RES, & DOLBY TrueHD automatically.:D

It is beautiful.:D

Does the HD 5770 card bitstream with Windows xp Home Edition?

I was wondering is anyone using Windows XP with the HD 5770 and PowerDVD 9 Ultra and still bitstreaming DTS-HD? Also, can the file Anydvd makes when it copies to your hard drive be simply played back and have the option to bitstream the audio thru Power DVD or WMC-HC? Thanks.

I read another post somewhere else that XP did not work either.

Yes, but you need to install the Virtual Clone Drive.

I saw that these came out yesterday, but I'm still waiting on the lower end ones since I don't do any gaming on my PCs... I only want it for bitstreaming so I guess I'll continue to wait. I can get two 5550/5350 or whatever they will be called, for the price of one 5670.

Wow, for only $50, I might be tempted to pick one up for my second HTPC just for the heck of it!:D
