The XBox360 will still have 512MB or 256MB On-Board Flash Memory (CF type built in).

So the hard drive isnt a MUST to save games, nor are additional memory cards. The Hard drive would be used more for saving downloaded Emulator Profiles and other content.
wow, i hadn't read about that, thats really cool

Odd.. that's the first I've heard of this. You think they would make more noise about it, since there are a great many Xbox fans pretty pissed off right now that if they buy the Core system, they'll be forced to buy a memory card. If what you say is true, then why are they making memory cards at all? Especially since the memory cards they are selling are only 64MB.

I think you're confusing the system's RAM with flash memory. They're two completely different things.

The memory cards would allow you to take it over to another xbox and load your saved games there, as would the external hard drive. An internal flash drive you would be forced to only play your xbox with all of your saves.

hmm ok, I never knew that.. I don't really trust 3rd party sites or information.. I trust the company thats producing it -in this case microsoft-.. how reliable is that site anyway.. 3rd party sites have a tendancy to.. stretch the truth and make up stories to gain popularity.. If the hard drive is seperate, I'll probably be getting the hard drive later.. 256mbs is good enough for the first month I own it, then I'll get it.. unless it costs more to get it sepereate than getting the console with it.. hmm

From the pricing that came out yesterday that hard drive will be $100, so ya get the base system at $299, add the hard drive and you have the same price as the $400 package that comes with a lot more stuff.

Im sure there will be tons of hacks. I glad that it will not be meida center exclusive and that XP also will be able to talk, out of the box. I am waiting for a Microsoft rep now to talk about the porting of service (xbox live) for old customers to the gold level on 360. See if I can find any answers.
Hey Im testing a processor anyway its a wait and see so I may as well do this while I wait :)

At work, just a Dell GX260 or D610 depedning on what I am doing. Though most of my work is through terminal services, remote into servers etc, so it changes. Though I think I have a faster connection at home sometimes with the amount of firewall rules here.

Oh Ya My Microsoft Rep said there is no offical word. Blah blah blah. You would think with billing cycles happening all the time they would release some info on what is going to happen, with the gold and silver levels for those who already pay.

from what you've said so far, silver is pretty much the same, if you just play on weekends that is. there are only a few differences: enhanced matchmaking, skill level matchmaking, gameplay style profile, but those aren't all that important. You can still play online (weekends) and chat online...

it should cost the same, considering its the same network, just two different consoles

Damn, remember when consoles were for people who wanted a simpler option than a personal computer?

I don't think I'll be buying a X-Box360, way too much thinking.......
