IPhone 16 Pro Max 512GB (New Work Phone)
I do like the thinner bezel, almost exact same size as my 14 Pro Max it replaces.View attachment 69589
LOL. We're 1yr behind on hardware, so I am waiting for us to get the 15 so I can upgrade from my 13. They won't give it to us until the 16 hits shelves.

My new Noco Geneus2, car battery charger, that arrived today. I have a then new 2006 Mustang, and drive it every couple months, the past 4 years. I can leave this charger on 24/7, with no worries having a dead battery. It sure beats having a portable battery charger and getting that out, which does work. With this new charger, I have no worries, as keeps the battery maintained 24/7. Not ready to sell my Mustang, just yet. Maybe next year. lol Been retired since 2008.

I'm waiting for my iphone12 to die before running to replace it. I'm definitely not a phone junkie.
Same here. I got my iPhone X for free when I bought one for my kid. They made me an offer to upgrade to the 14 with a trade-in for free so I did. Will keep this one until the next free offer. They make their money off the monthly service so carrier pays for the phone to keep your service contract.

I forgot to post that I got a Pixel 8. My Pixel 5A died in a bizarre way. I powered off the screen and a couple seconds later hit the power button and the screen would not light up. I figured the screen was dead because you could call my number and the phone would still ring. After a few soft reboots (power + up volume) I got the Android logo so the screen still worked. I didn't know the button combo to get to the root menu though. Next reboot blanked the screen again. After a few hours I got static on the screen, which I have never seen on a phone before. Reboot got the Android logo but screen blanked again.

Took it in for service in case it was recoverable but they said it was a hardware issue and they could not determine the exact cause. Ordered a new Pixel 8 which I've been very happy with. A few days later my wife called to tell me the alarm on my old phone went off. I guess the alarm was still set from a week earlier and the stupid phone is stilling running with a blank screen. :D I'll probably have to disassemble it and remove the memory to protect the private data that's on there still.

I got tired of black phones and went with grey. I don't know why they call this "hazel".

Congrats, nice choice!

Me, my wife, and our middle child (daughter, 41) all have Pixel 7's. Not the 7A or 7XL, just the regular. Paid for 100% from the git-go so no locked in contracts.

They have been totally reliable. No issues at all. I wanted phones with Android OS and no bloatware. Samsung is actively trying to become the new Apple, with their own heavily modified version of Android, their own apps and tons of bloatware you don't want and can't delete.

Like you, I got my wife and son Pixel 7 phones (my 5A was still good enough at the time). I tend to go one generation down from the latest release for best value. I used to have Samsung phones but also got tired of the bloatware and privacy infringements. Not that Google is known for good privacy ;), but at least the option is there to turn things off. Great camera on the Pixels too. Started to get unlocked phones with the Pixel 5A so that we could more easily change carriers and have more negotiating power.

Laughing at the alarm part only. I'm sorry the thing died.

Yeah, it was pretty humorous. Damn thing went off again yesterday. :D

Problem is that I need the phone for work. We use digital tokens for banking so we can't perform any banking without them. Crazy but the security is necessary for the business we're in.

Managed to preorder one. The 30th anniversary edition, which mimics the look of the original PS1 sold out in a few seconds, but no issue ordering a "regular" PS5 Pro. Releases Nov 7.

a pair of Revel PerformaBe M126 Be speakers. The beryllium tweeters are excellent. Very detailed without sounding harsh. Paired with a pair of subs they have excellent attack, soundstage and imaging. Paired with my Holo audio Cyan 2 DAC streaming sounds amazing. Highly recommend.

I was getting some nasty rattles in the living room so I figured I'd give it a try. Some is to be expected given the suspended floor and location there, but any improvement might help because it sounded like Wind River was going to rattle the baseboards right off the wall the other night ;)

I re-ran some quick REW sweeps with it in place and I do think it definitely reduced some of the very low end rattles. Looking at the distortion measurements, there was a clear reduction in the 20 - 30 Hz range from previous measurements (which you could notably hear things vibrating at before). It was difficult to judge at sub 20Hz effect as there was still some resonance rattle but it was difficult to say if it was actually lower overall than before. Didn't do a whole lot for some of the higher level rattles from the curio and closet but I didn't expect miracles. I did note slightly higher output around 30Hz and 50Hz than before, but I'll chalk that up to simply raising the sub a couple inches rather than any drastic performance improvement they were claiming.

Overpriced? Yeah, for what it is. I didn't realize that the top section was actual more of a solid platform (wood I think), but it does look nicer and isn't quite as high as some of the others that were cheaper.

So not thrilled with the product, but not completely dissapointed either. It'll be staying in place for now and we'll see how it goes. A good rumbly movie will be the real test.

Not sure what Rel model that is (s/510)? I did not like the standard feet on my HT1205 mkii as the sub would actually move on my LVP floors during spirited listening sessions. Ended up replacing them with some SVS isolation feet and solved that issue. The hanging pots and pans in the kitchen still vibrate once in while.
