Not sure what Rel model that is (s/510)? I did not like the standard feet on my HT1205 mkii as the sub would actually move on my LVP floors during spirited listening sessions. Ended up replacing them with some SVS isolation feet and solved that issue. The hanging pots and pans in the kitchen still vibrate once in while.

You are correct. It is an s/510. I was looking at a T9 but decided to go up their line a little bit as the room is relatively large and open and this system has been doing more mixed music and HT duty in the last few years. Despite weighing 75lbs, the s/510 can still shake itself around on the floor too if things got intense. I blame the downfiring woofer doing just enough to offset the weight enough to reduce the grip. I would have gone with the SVS feet as well but the s/510 has more a rail style support and surely wouldn't work with those. This works well becuase it still provides a solid base for the downfiring passive driver without changing the expected clearance.

After I posted, I did a quick test with a couple sequences from movies that normally shake the poop out of the room. It seems this platform is having more of a positive effect than I thought it did at first. Currently feeling a fair bit more positive about it. I should have given it the Edge of Tomorrow test but forgot as I ran out of time. I'm thinking of starting a Nolan Batman cycle tonight, so that should be a good broad test evening.

With the new amp, I was able to get ARC to give me an F6 (or F0 depending on how you want to look at requested room gain vs reference level) of 15 Hz. That's driving things pretty hard below their rated bottom end though, so I've backed off a bit and set a roll off targetting that point at 20Hz now, but it's still only 3db down from the refernce level at 16Hz, so there's plenty of low level stuff going on to rattle that border wall around it.

Managed to preorder one. The 30th anniversary edition, which mimics the look of the original PS1 sold out in a few seconds, but no issue ordering a "regular" PS5 Pro. Releases Nov 7.

Confused did you get the 30th Anniversary one? If so I would flip it for 3k and buy more home audio gear...lol or hold on to it an sell it in 10 years for 5k.

I actually wanted one so I skipped the 30th The 30th was only 1300 units and sold out super quick. The regular one took about 4 hours to sell out.

Do records count, even if 4 of the 11 were a gift?

This morning our son Brian stopped in with an early Birthday gift for me. He brought me 4 albums he'd carefully selected, which surprisingly enough...not any of which I already own!

I then went over to the Sturbridge (MA) Host Hotel for a record sale going on there today and picked up 7 more. Proof that my son is better at this than me, is the top left one which I already own. Oh well. What I do is pick the one in best playing condition and offer the other to Brian first and if he doesn't want it some other friend friend will get it.

Yesterday I sold a cartridge headshell holder that I made for $100, and these 7 records cost me $95. It's a wash and I'm happy!

It works as a stack with the Atom amp, which has volume control. I should get it late this week or next week.

Just bought a second SVS PB 3000 and a Monolith 7x amplifier. After years of not understanding why my dad kept suggesting to go dual subs and get a power amp to go with my AVR, I finally did, and what a difference it made. Bass is even more powerful yet more balanced and defined. The extra wattage has allowed my base layer of speakers, especially my front 3, to sound richer and fuller with improved clarity at higher volumes.

My lava lamp bit it so I bought a new one. It comes with a ceramic heater instead of a light bulb to generate heat and led lights to give it color. It also does quite a few different shades as well.

That "Brother Where You Bound" is a huge, happy surprise to me! It could easily jump in right behind "Breakfast In America" in my list of favorite Supertramp albums!

My Stargate SG-1 Box Set just arrived. For once I'm actually pleased with the storage case. Very compact. Durable and it won't self destruct like most box sets I've purchased.

Whether all the discs are good, I don't know yet. I ordered the DVDs because in my experience they are more durable than Blu Ray and frankly, with my 65" screen sitting 10 feet away, with my 63 year old eyes, I don't see the difference. And I only do 2 channel audio anyway.

Very rough guess, I think perhaps 5% of all of my DVDs have developed playability issues while 30% of my Blu rays develop playability issues.

ETA: And I'm so glad that they are one side DVDs. I can't stand discs that play on both sides cuz I can't read the 2Pt type at the spindle hole.

Bought my first native, binaural double DSD recording. Playing back on Marantz HD DAC1 via foobar2000 on EQ'd Audeze LCD-XC headphones sounds incredible. I took the time today to install a new version of foobar2000 with the latest/greatest needed components and went through the EQ settings again for my cans. I can't believe how good 2 channel can sound. The soundstage and imaging in the binaural recording is amazing. The Dummy Head was on a stand 3 feet behind the conductor and 10 feet off the floor. Release is from Chasing the Dragon.

Glad to hear that you like it. I thought that the album was recorded really well and agree that the music is excellent. Love Cannonball.

I saw Supertramp live way back in 1979 at Empire Stadium in Vancouver. I'm a big Fan and had almost every album in those days. I've seen Roger Hodgson twice since then, in much smaller venues, but nothing beats the full blown Stadium Experience of the Band in front of 45,000 Fans!

I remember the neighbors miles away complaining it was far too loud. Somehow, I didn't think so...
