Svs sb13 ultra /pb 13 ultra amp swap

Hello, a friend has a svs sb13 ultra with a bad amp. He was considering swapping it out for a used PB13 ultra amp he found on eBay .
is there any problem with this?
The specs are the same but are there limiters or dsp setups for a ported vs sealed setup that would make this a bad idea?

Don't know for sure but could be dsp settings in a sealed sub amp that wouldn't be made for a ported sub. They may be user adjustable, but probably not at a guess

That’s what I thought but wasn’t sure if it would be noticeable .

A sealed sub would normally have some eq to bring up the lowest frequencies due inherent qualities of a sealed sub compared to a ported that wouldn't require such

If you do that the sub will be highly bass deficient, as the sealed sub requires a 12 db. per octave boost below F3, and a sharp cut off at the point the driver exceeds x-max. Ported subs do not require that bass boost, and actually would be harmed by it. So the answer is that your plan will not work.
