Seriously, I have no life.
....
Yet, Parasound seems to command a lot more respect than Emotiva.

Is it because Parasound measures better or because they look much better aesthetically or cost much more or what?
I bet because it has been around for a much longer time and John Curl is with that outfit.;):D

It always helps to have a legend.:D

I almost bought Parasound amps, but I didn't because they didn't have those large metal handles in the front.:D

I always love those large front metal handles like Bryston, Audio Research, Vincent Audio, and ATI.:D

I must be crazy or something.

Not every Parasound piece is mfg overseas. However, the new New Classic line is. As are lots and lots of other things.

Parasound has been around many many years and has one of, if not the, most bullet proof names in audio. The name has been built over time by producing incredible products, true to their world class standards of realized performance and value. I don't know if you can find a legitimate bad word written about it.

Some of the biggest movie studios use Parasound amps to test their releases. If it's good enough for Lucasfilm, Universal, Warner Bros., Pixar, & many other production houses & directors.... It's good enough for me &, IMO, anyone else.
I've been using Parasound gear for a decade, their gear is super. They will not put out junk. That is why last year they canned their 7 channel pre-pro before release. Too many problems with the platform used.

All I know is this:

I sold one of my Parasound HCA1000A's to KEW. Not Parasounds highest end amp, not one of their lowest end amps. It's a John Curl design.

KEW also owns an Emotiva UPA-2. Guess what he said when he A/B'd them...;)

The XPA-3 that I played with around 2 years ago is still going strong and I don't see any reason why it won't be a 15 year amp sitting in your console. Still haven't heard an amp that blows another quality amp out of the water.
