Boy hope Trump knows what he's doing. Don't envy the people working below him.
Just saw a statistic that America pays 92% of all tariffs globally. I bet we would benefit if that was a little more balanced and neutral economists loose credibility if they ignore the fact in the conversation

Why don’t you provide a link to backup your claim, for credibility sake?

You do know that a tariff is a tax that a government levy on imports? So you claim that US pay other countries the tax they impose on imports to their own country?

Maybe Canada should put tariffs on US imports until they clean up their side of the border.
The Mexican President is not happy with Trump’s tweet and hit back. That a woman dare doing that must wound his fragile ego.

>>>Last night, Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum hit back [at Trump] with a fiery statement noting that America contributes to Mexico’s social problems plenty as well: “Seventy percent of the illegal weapons seized from criminals in Mexico come from your country. We do not produce these weapons, nor do we consume synthetic drugs. Tragically, it is in our country that lives are lost to the violence resulting from meeting the drug demand in yours.”<<<

That's how Tariffs are to work. Sure consumer cost here in the States will rise. Puts pressure on manufacturers to bring back to United States. More JOBs here, better standard of living for everyone. Spewing mis-information doesn't work. Unless there's an agenda being pushed. :) or keep paying for really cheap stuff, while other countries influence other nations with monies spreading communism.

For the life of me, I wouldn't have thought we imported maple syrup from the US, since Canada produces more of it than the rest of the world combined.

Tariffs can potentially bring back bring back manufacturing jobs, but there are no guarantees.
Trump steel tariffs raised prices, shriveled up demand, led to job losses, some Michigan workers say
Even if some jobs are created, others will be lost.

With regards to tariffs, what is the nature of this misinformation and where is it coming from?

....
Maybe Canada makes more selling it on the world market than they would pay by importing from US?
Some things on the world market works like that, like oil.

Or, do an Enron.

Well, than let me retard.;)All of or most of the money from buying cheap stuff goes to building up militaries spending money that's made, on other poor countries. Like say Mexico, where a foothold can be placed. Here (USA)like citizens selling land to communist countries with nuclear bases not too far away. Communist, policing others and of those like kinds. Now I'm not adverse to posting links or articles to back up anything I'm saying. It's not like anything that anyone who hasn't read or heard of on the national fake news or trash articles that can be found on MSN.

True, but they wouldn't ship it if there was no demand. Let's see what happens if the Southern US border slows the flow- I suspect smugglers will be coming in via the Atlantic and from the North. Many US drug users still have nostrils like a horse, but the IV drug and pill markets are awfully strong.

The US will be screwed if the price of lumber goes back to the way it was during COVID. We use A LOT of lumber that comes from Canada.
