My comment was a bit tongue-in-cheek. One of Trump's justifications for tariffs on Canadian imports is the smuggling of fentanyl into the US from Canada. I assume there is demand for it there.
I don't know how much Fentanyl comes in through Canada- it would seem easier to cross over the Southern border since it's not being guarded as well as
some people say (Biden, etc). Anything coming in at official checkpoints is the fault of whomever is checking, but I don't necessarily mean it as a hard "IT'S THEIR FAULT"- smugglers are very resourceful and sometimes, it just can't be detected by machine or animal. If the US doesn't have some kind of strict inspection, it's the fault of the US, as much as anyone else. Who's bringing it in via Canada, China? They're one of the main sources of several drugs.
