Guys, here are a few updated pics of my set-up. It is a continuing work in progress. :):) I have made some great strides, but still have plenty to do. Hope to have it more or less wrapped-up within the next few months. As always, it all depends on my funds for the most part. :p:p Anyways, here they are. Please feel free to offer any tips, comments, and etc. Thanks so much! ;);)

Cheers,

Phil

PS: Be sure to notice the little stand my installer made for me. Thus, it allowed me to put my center channel on top and move my 42" LCD up a bit higher. I think it turned out quite well. Also, I will put some door stoppers under my center channel speaker when I get time to buy some. Plan on doing that tomorrow.:eek:

Oops, forgot to mention that on the top shelf is my new Denon 2808 CI and Panny BR player. The bottom shelf is my Toshiba A-3. Sorry, but BR won the war...........LOL!!!!! :p:p

Thanks a bunch croseiv. I am pleased with it so far, but there remains a lot of work to be done. My plan is to replace my cabling to the right or nearly the right sizes. :D:D Then, I may rework the speaker wire too. In fact, I want to use 10 AWG all the way around. Anyways, appreciate your kind words my friend.

Phil

Lmao........it is an oblong shaped room.:rolleyes: Thanks darien for your kind words. I am sure you can tell that there is still work to be done yet. However, I am working on it. My ultimate goal is to do some room treatments and such. Part of the problem is finding the time and an even bigger issue is money! :D:D Appreciate your input.

How are you liking the HD formats? Man, Dolby True HD/DTS-MA sound great. Much better than I thought they would.

To be honest croseiv, I need to run Audyssey again. I can take up to (8) different measurements.:eek: Not really used to that. I just wanted to get familiar with the Denon way of doing things per se. I hope to re-run it again, and do some fine tweaking using the Rives Test CD II and my RS SPL meter. But, from what I have heard thus far, lets just say I am more than pleased. ;);)

Very nice Phil, I like how you fit the subs. It looks like you could use some room treatments, if you can find somewhere to put them.;) How is the reflected sound?

Yeah Mike, I upgraded to the Ascend 340's across the front. Right now, I do not have any rears, but will have the Ascend 200's as soon as I can financially speaking. Also, I have a new Denon 2808 CI and a new Panasonic BD35 BR player. With the way I have it now, I may be able to upgrade further to a complete 7.2 set-up. BTW, what do you think of the little stand that my installer made for me? I took some cheap black paint and painted it to match the top of my tv stand. It is made out of 3/4" MDF. Does it look decent to you? Thanks Mike for your kind words. :):)

Thanks Matt. It appears you and the wife are up-grading as well. Congrats on your 1st child. Be sure to cherish it, because it goes by real fast. My daughter just turned 20!:eek: Seems like only yesterday I was holding her in my arms. ;);)

Thanks a bunch Jack. I do plan on doing some room treatments sometime in the near future. So far, the reflected sound is not too bad. The Ascends sounded differently to me than when they were powered by my former Yamaha 663. I think this is mostly due to my new Denon. In other words, I am still adjusting to this significant change. However, I am sure treatments will bring it to another level altogether. ;);)

the niche the center channel is in? it blends well with the original stand :)

good idea too, better than the TV directly on top of the center speaker!

Thanks Mike. The stand was made originally for my Polk CSi3 center. However, it turns out that the Ascend 340C SE fits perfectly. I can even put a couple of door-stoppers underneath for proper imaging purposes. In fact, I plan to do that tomorrow. ;);) For no more than I have in it ($60), I feel as though I got a good deal. BTW, that was for both stands! :D:D

oh, i thought the lower stand was some commercially bought stand

to incline my center, i purchased some auralex mopads from the AH store :)
adjustable incline and like a pillow for your center to rest on :D

though im not sure if it would fit your niche :)

No Mike, my boss's wife won a DLP tv and stand from a local car lot. So, my boss decides he wants to sell both the DLP tv and stand. The people that bought the DLP decided the stand was not for them. It was then I realized it would work for my needs. For $60, I thought it was a good deal. The little stand, was more or less free with the exception of the spray paint I used. If I remember correctly, it was less than $5. :D:D I will look into the mopads. Thanks for mentioning them. :):)
