Hey Phil

That's a great looking setup you have! You and I both have some room-treatments to make. ;)

I took the advice from my thread and moved my center up closer to the tweeter level of my mains and it has made a great difference. You may want to make some temporary stands for your mains (that are lower) just to see how much auditory difference it makes.

Thanks for the pictures!

Thanks a bunch for your compliments. I plan to do some treatments when time and money allow. The Ascend 340's are an MTM design. As such, the tweeters are at ear level. I do plan to angle my center up as much as possible though. For now, the stands will have to do. Down the road I may make some changes. ;);)

Cheers,

Phil

Pictures look good, as does the system. Man, that couch must shake! What camera are you using? Low light pictures are always the hardest, but these look sharp and don't have the grain that most dark shots have.

if it were mine. i would turn the mains in a little, and maybe move them closer to the display. and i would move the center to above the display.

Phil,

How are you linking the blu-ray experience so far. I noticed your dual subs. Man I bet they shake that space tremendously.

Thanks a bunch Brian. I am using a Canon A570 camera. Still learning how to use it as I am not much of a photographer. ;);) But, from your comments I guess I am getting better. :D:D At times, my love-seat shakes, rattles, and rolls.:eek: At others, I get a free back massage which is a nice touch. Appreciate your feedback. :):)

Thanks a bunch for your input. This is just for starters. I will do much more tweaking over the next couple of months. Right now, I have out of town company coming in for the holiday and as always I have to work. Basically, not much free time. Just today I have been cleaning house for my out of town guests coming in. My floor is drying as we speak. Needless to say, I am worn out. ;);)

Yeah, they do croseiv. I already had to turn them down when watching BR movies.:eek: So far, I love my Panasonic player. The new sound codecs really are better. Everything sounds clearer and more natural. Thanks for your comments my friend. ;);)

Thanks captain for your input. Yes, it really is nice to have my own room for .....ummmmmm............ just me! :D:D I have enjoyed it immensely. Will be doing some fine tuning/adjusting very soon and perhaps add some room treatments.

Cheers,

Hey, Phil. Your newest set-up looks really nice. No wonder you're always saying how your funds are tight. :D

I might have missed it in the other posts, but have you angled your center channel speaker, yet? I agree that will probably make a nice difference.

Ahhh, the dual subs behind the loveseat. As they say, if the loveseat is a rockin'... ;)

Speakerman,

Looks like you don't have much room, but try pulling those speakers out from the wall, and toeing them in a little.

If the loveseat's a rockin', Phil has the subs turned up a 1/4 of the way? :D

Next time Phil get's himself some female companionship,
they're gonna know about it in Eastern Kentucky.

Kentucky: the KY state. :)

Hi Adam and thanks for your input. Yeah, my funds have been tight for a while due to my latest upgrades. Right now, I have angled my center up some, but not enough. In fact, I may make some angled stands with a steeper angle out of some MDF. Then, I plan to paint them black. However, it is just finding the time to do so. Appreciate you offering me some tips. Have a great Thanksgiving. :):)

Thanks Jamie for your kind words. I am pleased with everything so far, but still a lot of work ahead of me. At times, it seems like it never ends.:rolleyes: Guess, that is what drives me to optimize what I do have. Once my cabling is fully replaced, then things will look even cleaner. Appreciate your input Jamie. Have a great Thanksgiving. :):)

Okay Maz I will do just that as I am sure it will help. Once I get my center angled up properly, then I will re-arrange my fronts just as you suggest. Of course, I will also re-run Audyssey again and fine tune with my Rives Test CD II ans RS SPL meter. Really appreciate your input. Hope all is well. Have a great Thanksgiving. :):)

Yeah, my love-seat rocks quite regularly.:eek: However, when it comes to the female companion thing my love-seat is NOT the ONLY thing that gets rocked. :D:D Have a great Thanksgiving Alex. :):)

Nice setup, now I finally know where your avatar comes from :D:D

Perhaps most important thing with room treatments here is to do whatever you can to kill first reflections...

Hi Harald. Thanks for your kind words. I do plan on doing some room treatments. Maybe a couple acoustic panels up front and perhaps some bass traps. Not sure just yet what all it will entail. As always, it depends on my funds as well as my time. Right now both are of the essence. ;);) Appreciate your feedback. :):)

Cheers,

Phil
