Too bad he didn't understand the seriousness of all his prior situations. This is incredibly sad.
One look at him and you can tell he's too stupid to understand. A total POS, wish he could get the 'chair' !

I think I saw that they chased him for 5 minutes? Is that true?
Yes all 3 chased him down. They showed a video in court where the victim was shown walking though a home under construction long after the construction crew was gone. The victim was where he shouldn't have been. He doesn't even live in that neighborhood. So for them or who ever said he was just jogging is b$llsh$t. The victim doesn't look nothing like the photo that protesters are holding up outside the court. There where robberies and break-ins in that neighborhood. But as the video shows that the whole country has seen the three chasing him down and wrestling with him up until he gets shot wasn't justifiable. All them 3 dumba$$ had to do was call it in to their local police department. Now they are more than likely gonna spend the rest of their lives in prison. The felony charges was high, it was more than three, something like nine.

Local paper showed that he was sobbing in court but not in the video I saw (didn't watch the whole thing). Maybe he understands now, maybe he's just sad that he'll be in prison for the rest of his life but it really doesn't matter at this point- he had plenty of time to stop before driving over anyone and he literally did that to at least two of the victims.

Some very stupid sh$t that a lot of people lost their life's over. Life is precious, it's even harder to read where baby's and tender age children are murdered by their own parents.:( I read a story where this umm 5 year old child before he was murdered by his parents, was telling a social worker cause his parents were being investigated for neglect, the lil man said, Nobody loves me. Well not long after they found him dead. :(

He is a case study in what's wrong with our judicial system. He tried previously to run over the mother of his child not to mention a laundry list of other crimes and the 'system' lets him back on the street ?? !! This kind of poop boils my blood, grrrrrrr

Ahmaud Arbery: What to know about the murder trial of Travis McMichael, Gregory McMichael and William "Roddie" Bryan - CBS News

Ahmaud Arbery was 25 years old and was born and raised in and around Brunswick, Georgia. At Brunswick High School, Arbery was a star football player known for his speed. Exercising continued to be important to him and was known to run often through the neighborhood.
He was 2.5 miles from his home when he was shot, which isn't all that far for a jogger. And, unless you run around your block dozens of times, you pretty much have to leave your immediate neighbourhood. He wouldn't be the first person to wander through a property under construction out of curiosity. Even if he was "casing the joint", these three stooges had no business chasing him down, much less shooting him.

At least we agree that they got what they deserve.

Oh hell yeah, the 3 got what they deserve. But yeah, agree, I've been biking in other neighborhoods and I'm white, cop stopped me ask for ID, guess someone called in. No he shouldn't have been walking though that home under construction. Doesn't give anyone the right to take someone's life over something that was no more than at most criminal trespassing.

Finally, someone is calling for the resignation of the MKE County DA- he doesn't have competition in elections, so it's hard to see an end to his kind of political influence on that office.

MKE is stagnant. Nothing changes in political offices unless someone dies, leaves after a scandal or finds some way to grab the golden ring. They tell people what's good for them and talk at them, rather than with them.

- MKE has had nine District Attorneys in its history, 1848-present.
- MKE has elected ZERO Republican Mayors since 1916.
- MKE has elected FOUR Mayors since 1948.
- MKE has had many scandals in city and county government.
- MKE is called "the most segregated city in America".
- MKE used to be called 'The Machine Shop Of The World", but since many industries have become smaller, companies closed, outsourced to other countries (for many reasons, including environmental concerns) but the city hasn't been able to attract enough industries and companies to employ enough people to keep them off of government assistance and some degree of a dignified life.
- MKE has had terrible unemployment among Black males for decades.

Milwaukee has also paid millions in settlements due to a lack of oversight into Police officer mental health, which has resulted in many civilian deaths, beatings and other problems. The County board was recalled after they signed off for a pension system that allowed county employees to take a lump sum retirement payment PLUS their regular pension, which is still being funded through property taxation throughout the county, including the area where I live.

They can't spend money fast enough, but they also don't put money where it's needed. They're too eager to use TIF financing for construction projects that make some areas look 'pretty' where people can see it from the freeways, but leave the rest of the city to rot. Anyone who has driven more than a couple of blocks away from the freeways knows what I mean and all someone would need to do to see it if they're not coming here is go to one of the map websites (google maps, etc) and click on Street View. They pour money into all kinds of costly programs that barely scratch the surface of effectiveness, rather than find something for people to do that would make this a better place. Nobody really wants to live in an area where trash is laying all over the ground, but that's EXACTLY what MKE has. People toss full bags of fast food trash (including uneaten 'food') out of car windows, which ends up feeding the rat population, costs more money in pest control, decreases the self esteem of the residents and it has become a downward spiral effect.

The city needs to pay people to help in cleaning it up- they have cut finding for the DPW, so they won't be doing it, hell- they can't even find enough people to operate snow plow trucks for the upcoming Winter.

MKE- it's circling the drain.

Why would someone 'case' a house under construction? It's not as if he could have carried a bunk of plywood away or a big stack of lumber.

Chasing him for such a distance, ON CAMERA, was their undoing.

I didn't mean to suggest that he was casing the place. The three stooges might have imagined it though, since they seemed to suggest that his behaviour was suspicious.

Theft from houses under construction happens up here, including tools and building materials. Thieves will case the place and come back in the wee hours with a truck and take anything that isn't literally nailed down.

I believe Arbery's behaviour was completely innocent. I only mentioned it to pre-empt any suggestion that these guys' actions could be justified because they thought he might have an ulterior motive.

“The victim was where he shouldn’t have been.”

????

Black in America?

Anywhere white people say you don’t belong? life was easier when there were posted signs and we all knew our places.

Has everyone forgotten about the the coverup by law enforcement? Any prosecutions pending?

Remember, they got away with it until the video surfaced weeks later.

While historically a spectator sport and family affair, lynching does not play as well in syndication as it does in front of a live audience.

I remember going through mid-construction houses going up near ours just to check it out.

Exactly. The only reason this went to trial is because of the video. Law enforcement gave these guys a free pass and didn't question their story at all. Does anyone believe that Derek Chauvin would have been convicted of George Floyd's murder without the video evidence?

I love the fact that we now have better probability of objective data in the form of video and audio in encounters. Eye witness testimony is at best unreliable to outright fraudulent.

I think a lot of materials theft happens at places that are a bit obscured, but yeah, it happens all over, especially when the prices go through the roof (no pun intended. Really. I didn't mean to, it just happened).

I know a lot of people who went into houses under construction as kids- I did it a couple of times, but the doors hadn't been installed because NOBODY would have stolen or damaged anything at that time because it just wasn't something the vast majority of people would do. Hell, at that time, when a garage was entered, it shocked people- we didn't bother to lock our house or garage until someone swapped an old, rusty bike wheel & tire for the one on my brother's bike and because of that, the whole block was changed and it was like the end of innocence. I seriously doubt anyone could have imagined how far society has fallen.

With enough witnesses, yes. Part of that particular event was caused by the superiors in the department and the officers who responded did nothing to stop it. With a crowd of that size, I think the witnesses should have done more. Chauvin should have been put on desk duty long before, at the very least.

Going into an area where the population is predominantly different, someone will be 'out of place'. Happened to me in LA- I picked up the rental car and needed GPS to reach my cousin's house, but either didn't have my phone charging adapter or didn't want to stop and search for it because I was at the border of Compton and Downey and, as it turns out, people who look similar to me are sometimes dragged out of their cars, beaten/killed and the cars taken. I drove to find a Walgreens-type store and passed on one place because the group hanging out at the entrance didn't look good, at all. I kept going and found a RiteAid, or something and went in. As I was looking for the adapters, a man came over and asked if I needed help finding anything and walked me over to the aisle where they were located. He asked "What brings you to LA?" and I told him, then he said "Well, you don't need to be here". When I arrived and told someone where I had gone, another cousin's husband said "Jesus! You could have been killed!".

OTOH, I was going to meet some friends from out of town one night and neglected to check the fuel gauge, so I ran out at the best possible location- while I was on the freeway. It was 11PM, Winter, cold, dark and like a ghost town- NOBODY was out. Fortunately, I was able to coast up the next offramp and pull over near a corner at a major street. I know the area and as I started walking toward a nearby gas station, a car pulled up and asked where I was going. I told him and he said "Get in and I'll drive you there. He then asked "You know where you are, right?". We got to the gas station, I was able to put a deposit on a gas can and buy some gas, then went back to my car. The only reason I expected it to be there was because it wouldn't have started and in that area, a GM car would have been easy picking. As I was getting out of the car, the guy asked if I had anything for him and I said "Absolutely!", gave him a few bucks and he left. That could have gone very differently, but even in MKE, most violent crime doesn't cross the racial lines although someone could have tried armed robbery.

I have never felt that all people are bad, just some of them but in those two cases, the ones I interacted with reinforced that idea.
