TESLA Model Y PREMIUM Audio

I have The MODEL Y 2026 premium & also the LEXUS RX350 2021 F Sport with Mark Levenison audio. The TESLA is way far superior to ML & Tesla has no name in house brand does an awesome job . To my ears it could use a bit of sound dumping like stick on thin sheets on the inside of the doors. Any recommendation which one to use?..

Dynamat is the original. Probably what I'd start looking at.

My Ioniq 5 XRT came with a Bose system. Have to say, it sounds pretty good for a "regular" car system.

Good stock car systems are a lot better now than they used to be....but they're still in a car. I spend little time in a car these days so just not that big a deal, altho I have a pretty decent aftermarket setup in my van.

Sound system in my 23 model Y is very nice. perhaps best I've ever had.

But Tesla is known for noisy cars. The road noise is pretty bad. And then there are the rattles from the dash and other components that didn't "snap in" properly.

How many miles you got on that? More of the enthusiastic Tesla reports are about very quiet interiors, not so true IRL?

something like 27,5xx.

They do things to attempt to lessen noise, but not enough. Maybe the old S and X models were better as they were truly more luxury vehicles.

I read that choosing the larger rims with low profile tires was one cause of increased road noise. I have standard rims. My tires also have insulation inside of them to help deaden road noise. if it helps, I'd hate to hear it without.

It's a balance. I definitely have no regrets about getting a Tesla. It is a good car in many other ways, and it is fun to drive. And the savings on fuel is insane, in fact setting up a home charger and switching to a time-of-use electrical plan has brought our overall bill down.

So I bump my tunes and serenade myself in the car.

Home charger is the key. It makes all the difference.

I bought mine late 2025 and its Model Y 2026, it's pretty well put together .Bought a used home charger two yrs ahead of time when well paid LIBS & their NGOs went crazy going vandalizing Tesla's, from FB Marketplace .Paid an electrician $500 bucks to install it in my garage according to codes.Love the car & FSD is makes me & my wife better drivers.
Two bad things about Tesla's because of the crazies you pay a higher insurance.
Where you park is very important again because of the nutjobs.

Unplugged is offering after market Springs which I installed .Made the car a teed lower & the ride is much smoother . You must change the camber arm in the rear to avoid uneven wear on the tires.

I bought the SONY 75 RGB II 9 from BB but it didn't fit in the back of my Model Y I got my friend's with chryslerr Pacifica to help out . barley fitted in his car.

I have a BMW i5 now, had an M4 before, and couple of Teslas. All of them lack in the bass department. If I were to do one thing on any of them, it would be to add a subwoofer.

I have no idea. I have never put money into a car audio. Just don't keep them long enough. I’m sure in the trunk or under the seats could be a spot.

They seem to tend to use every bit of space from what I've seen. Maybe under seats with a low profile sub.....but wouldn't want to give up the trunk. Then it seems adding additional audio gear to modern cars is a pain generally....

That too. I cant imagine what it would entail to add anything to these new car systems that are all integrated.

Also in my 2023. Bass is not lacking, and overall the system is very nicely set up, stock.

I've given up half of my trunk for a sub before. It is absolutely fun, but I never did it again after getting it out of my system. "lacking" is a matter of perspective. I had eyeball vibrating levels of bass in my Acura Integra, so anything else could be considered "lacking" comparatively. Previously, when I bought a car, I already figured I'd be replacing the entire audio system very soon. These days, the manufacturers realize a good system will appeal to some people.

IMHO, bass is not lacking at all in my Ioniq 5 either. Not with the "regular" system in the 2024 and definitely not in my current 2026.
