“The victim was where he shouldn’t have been.”

????

Black in America?

Anywhere white people say you don’t belong? life was easier when there were posted signs and we all knew our places.

Has everyone forgotten about the the coverup by law enforcement? Any prosecutions pending?

Remember, they got away with it until the video surfaced weeks later.

While historically a spectator sport and family affair, lynching does not play as well in syndication as it does in front of a live audience.
Wasn't he walking though a home under construction? He was, should he have been there? No, was what them 3 dumba$$ taking the law into their own hands right? Hell no! That man lost his life over just for been in the wrong place at the wrong time. Don't paint me or my comment as me being racist, I'm not. Was just commenting on the video that showed a person of color where he had no business being at. Before the video was shown the media was playing it out like they always do or he was just jogging. When in fact it was proven it was more to the story then what the media was leading on.

Seriously, I have no life.
you mean white witnesses right? We know they are reliable and would never lie…
No, I mean witnesses, but with a white cop (Chauvin) who was the senior officer and acting as a training officer for the rookie (who the hell thought that was a good idea?), I'm sure that a small group of witnesses would have been ignored by the commanding officers and this would never have been made public until the video went viral. Hell, one person who might not have been noticed by the cops could have accomplished the same thing (made it public) if they recorded it and were able to get out of the area but they would have to be farther away and the video wouldn't have been as clear.

If you need to poke me with your implication that white people aren't reliable and would lie, where have I ever written anything about white people being great, better, best or superior? Not gonna happen. While you're at it, why don't you go ahead and explain why 'snitches get stitches' is a good policy in the community, followed by "Where were the police, to stop this?". Can't have it both ways, especially when so many are calling for the defunding of police departments. The culture of beating/killing people and covering it up in the departments should have ended decades ago, but I guess it was justified by them via "Well, crime is down", right? However, more people are calling out the silent witnesses and, while I don't want it to reach Big Brother proportions, staying silent and taking the "We'll handle it" approach is not working. Too many people are literally caught in the crossfire.

Many like to point fingers, but when will people stop their criminal activity? Nobody seems to be afraid of the consequences anymore but in some cities, jail or prison can be a step up WRT living conditions and that's just not right.

Going into an area where the population is predominantly different, someone will be 'out of place'. Happened to me in LA- I picked up the rental car and needed GPS to reach my cousin's house, but either didn't have my phone charging adapter or didn't want to stop and search for it because I was at the border of Compton and Downey and, as it turns out, people who look similar to me are sometimes dragged out of their cars, beaten/killed and the cars taken. I drove to find a Walgreens-type store and passed on one place because the group hanging out at the entrance didn't look good, at all. I kept going and found a RiteAid, or something and went in. As I was looking for the adapters, a man came over and asked if I needed help finding anything and walked me over to the aisle where they were located. He asked "What brings you to LA?" and I told him, then he said "Well, you don't need to be here". When I arrived and told someone where I had gone, another cousin's husband said "Jesus! You could have been killed!".

OTOH, I was going to meet some friends from out of town one night and neglected to check the fuel gauge, so I ran out at the best possible location- while I was on the freeway. It was 11PM, Winter, cold, dark and like a ghost town- NOBODY was out. Fortunately, I was able to coast up the next offramp and pull over near a corner at a major street. I know the area and as I started walking toward a nearby gas station, a car pulled up and asked where I was going. I told him and he said "Get in and I'll drive you there. He then asked "You know where you are, right?". We got to the gas station, I was able to put a deposit on a gas can and buy some gas, then went back to my car. The only reason I expected it to be there was because it wouldn't have started and in that area, a GM car would have been easy picking. As I was getting out of the car, the guy asked if I had anything for him and I said "Absolutely!", gave him a few bucks and he left. That could have gone very differently, but even in MKE, most violent crime doesn't cross the racial lines although someone could have tried armed robbery.

I have never felt that all people are bad, just some of them but in those two cases, the ones I interacted with reinforced that idea.
That was my point of that dude walking around that home under construction. Take him out of that area more than likely he would still be alive.

I don’t know you from a can of soup, just commenting on what you said.

If my response to your post has you concerned about being viewed as racist, feel free to rephrase. I took nothing out of context, You said what you said. For the record, I don’t think you are racist.

I want to apologize to you.

I actually came on to wish everyone a happy thanksgiving and and talk about whether I should get the BMR towers or monitors.

Why would someone 'case' a house under construction? It's not as if he could have carried a bunk of plywood away or a big stack of lumber.

Chasing him for such a distance, ON CAMERA, was their undoing.
So if they didn’t film it everything would have been ok. My Man!

I know you didn't or take out of context. I'm sure you've been discriminated against. I live in the deep South, white and I've been discriminate against by all colors including my own. Really makes me sick to watch that video of that man getting gunned down for nothing other than being in the wrong place at the wrong time and because of his color. Personally, those hate groups in this country is what's wrong in this country. And the politicians of course corrupt corporations but hey who am to say. We good, believe me I get where you're coming from. Oh no need to apologize, we just discussing a very bad situation that ended up being deadly. I take this as a learning lesson.

Not at all- we all should be able to go wherever we want and need to, without someone making it a problem. Arbery was struck by the vehicle before he was shot- the three caused the problem because THEY didn't like him being there. Seems that their attitude is still prevalent in the South, but not so many people act on it.

Might have been OK for them, especially since the PD covered it up.

Happy Thanksgiving to you, too.

Yeah this case I was WAY more motivated on watching then Kyle's. Anyone watching the Kenosha trial when you look at the facts knew it was a pretty obviously self defense

But this haunted me from the moment it happened. They way they literally chased him down like an animal.

The coverup from the beginning because of the connections two of them had with the I believe prosecutions office?

I'm very proud of the jury for the outcome and thought it was spot on and all charges were appropriate.

A couple of things that really pissed me off. So what if he is in that construction zone? You know how many people including myself have walked through a construction site? I actually love seeing what it looks like.

People keeping saying there was this high crime incident going on in that area but the records don't show that to be the case.

Third and this really pissess me off saying he should have complied or was stupid by going for the gun. I can't imagine a more terrifying scenario if I was a black man. Being chased by 3 red neck looking mother cluckers in two trucks and nothing you do gets them away from you no matter how hard you try to run away.

Then they corner you and get out with a fuggin shotgun. And advance around the truck on you.
I'd panic and start fighting for my life too man.

The 2 cases were polar opposites of each other. And in both I think the appropriate rulings were done by both juries

On the first comment- I don't believe there's a wrong place for anyone to go, in the sense that it would be off-limits because of race, etc. Intentionally going to a place that's known to be dangerous during the times it's dangerous isn't a good idea but nobody is telling someone they 'can't' go.

BTW- both of those guys who helped me are Black- they did this for me, in spite of, or because, I was in an area where I was the clear minority and I have helped people who aren't the same as me because it's the right thing to do.

Exactly. The only reason this went to trial is because of the video. Law enforcement gave these guys a free pass and didn't question their story at all. Does anyone believe that Derek Chauvin would have been convicted of George Floyd's murder without the video evidence?
George Floyd got what he deserved period. He held a gun against a pregnant woman’s stomach for crying out loud and he’s a hero according to the media. The majority of the population needs to take back this country.

Doesn't matter. Cops cannot kneel on a cuffed person's neck while on their stomach for an extended period of time.. C'mon people. This is easy stuff to understand.
