AMEN! Leave out the twist for me though.

No Grey Goose either. People who think Grey Goose is good vodka know nothing about vodka. It is the Bose of Vodkas! Over hyped and over advertised. The same goes for Absolut. Though it is better than Grey Goose, but not by much.

I have done blind taste tests on so called Grey Goose lovers. I have yet to find one that has not chosen it as the worst in the test. I love seeing the look on their faces when I reveal their worst choice as their so-called favorite.
Ketel One for me. (had to look in the freezer for spelling)

Hi annunaki,

.....Shadow, that's for sure, Buddy....but doesn't an acquired taste mean something tasted like crap right at first?......
I guess by your definition. To me it means my taste buds needed to be taught to appreciate the complexities in character, mouthfeel, etc.

I'm sure there's many things you didn't appreciate when you were younger that you've come to appreciate now. It's called growth and experience.

Otherwise we'd all still be eating coco-puffs and drinking kool-aid and listening to Top 40.

Fine be pushy. :D

Here are my favorites:

1) Shaker's (Wheat) $29.99 750ml

2) Ultimat $59.99 750 ml

3&4) Tie: Belvedere and Shaker's (Rye) $32.99 750ml and $29.99 750ml respectively

5) Chopin $29.99 750ml

6&7) Tie: Stoli and Three Olives $19.99 750ml and $19.99 1L respectively

For me, any of these rank above a Grey Goose, Ketel One (Sorry Major):p, Absolut or Sky by fairly wide margin.

The best value (taste for dollar) in Vodkas would have to be the Three Olives, Stoli and Smirnoff triple distilled (not listed as a favorite, as it is not quite good enough to make my list). Though, it would be hard to put Shaker's out of that category as it is the BEST I have ever had. I feel it is a great value.

Yeah, meant everyone who isn't from Mass calls in Worchester. But you'd be surprised how many people at my school don't have Boston accents.

Hey, don't worry!

I used to be a Stoli's 100 proof drinker but since I started drinking it mostly straight up (very dry martini) I moved to Ketel One. Beside, the bottle fits in the freezer so nicely :D

EDIT: Also, ask any Russian. They don't even drimk Russian vodkas anymore!

For those of you who think beer is just this burning awful experience with no redeeming qualities (and I agree if you're drinking Miller, Bud, or Coors or their Canadian or Mexican equivalents) I give you these two reviews:

Moose Drool, Bit Sky Brewery's most popular brew, has a sugary-sweet (but not too sweet) malty flavor with an underlying hoppy sharpness that drives the delightful taste across the tongue and down the throat. Its crips mouthfeel provides a textural interest. Gathering hints of chocolate and roasted malt show up as the dark-brown liquid warms. The finish of this tempting ale features a nice nutty aroma and a well-placed mildly hopped malty-sweet character.
Reutberger Kloster Beer. This monastary beer's surprisingly soft mouthfeel hints of grain and touches of spice. Backed by a floral aroma and perfumy floral taste, the sweet malt character is simultaneously tempered and lush. A layered, fresh green hop aspect spreads over the tongue while sweetness rises to the roof of the mouth. Reutberger ends soft and cushiony, with a grainy character and a nicely perfumy aftertaste. All in all, this is a carefully crafted sipping brew.

They read like a bad audio review. Discriptive words that mean differnent things to different people. Sounds poetic but...

I guess I'll just have to try them and find out for myself...like everything else...:)

Keep the suggestions comin'! I need more flavors in my beer fridge!!!

Take care Shadow,

Hey lay off my Alpo!!!:D

BEER SNOB is just a joke.:) I know where you and Shadow are coming from but I think it's ok to like cheap and high end.

I am not picking on anyone. Just poking fun.:)

On another note...Did you know that American beers were just like the rest of the worlds. Then world war II happened. Alot of women in the workforce wanted to do the same thing after work that the men did...Go to the bar and have a beer. The brewers realized that if they made the beer with a "lighter" flavor that they would sell alot more beer to women and for whatever reason it stuck...

So blame the women!:D (or Japan and Germany)

Yes, I knew that. I think that is when they started adding adjuncts like corn and rice to also lighten the taste and because it helped cheapen the cost.

Which is why I was very disappointed with Miller's celebration beer, 1865, because it didn't taste much different than regular Miller. I was thinking if Fred Miller had attempted to start his business with that weak slop he'd have been run out of Milwaukee on a rail.

Oh, and WWII was when the 6 pack was invented. Made it lighter and handier for the ladies to carry home.

Not just that. The rationing in WWII also forced the brewers to look for alternate ingredients (like the rice in Budweiser) and to use less grain in general.

Big Sweade or Summit India Pale Ale, all we have in the bars around here is Bud - lite or Miller.
