TCL to Take Over Sony Home Entertainment Business

Sony and TCL have agreed to a strategic partnership that would put TCL in control of developing, manufacturing, and selling future Sony home entertainment products, including BRAVIA TVs. The two companies will form a new joint venture, giving TCL a controlling 51% share. In this new joint venture, starting in 2027, TCL would be in charge of Sony’s home entertainment division, including TVs and audio equipment, handling the full process “from product development and design to manufacturing, sales, logistics, and customer service for products,” according to the press release. How will this impact the Sony brand reputation and products moving forward?

Sounds like a good Partnership, with Sony letting loose of their Electronics Line, which was probably suffering and wanting to sell some ownership. Should be interesting for TCL for their TV line and now include, Sony Electronics line, in 2027. I suppose they will retain the Sony name for the Electronics Line.
