Brian Bromberg helped bring about the use of the piccolo bass, which is an octave higher, IIRC, which allows him to play both the bass line and the melody. Often times, what you would swear is a guitar on his music is in fact a bass. Some of his work will really test your subwoofers, and anything loose you may have on your tables or hanging on your walls.
