Looks like the signature series v1 maybe cheaper cabinet, but everything else the same. Just like regan's trickle down economics but for speakers..

That is a very nice looking cabinet... I was just looking at that picture, and my Sig S4 in my room last night.... The Sigs have a flat back, not perfectly round like the ones in this picture... They really look quite a bit like KEF's stuff, very pretty color on the wood veneer...

Sorry Warp

Nope, they are charcoal grey, take them out in the sunlight and look.

I wonder if it depends on the color finish? Though I doubt it.
My v.1 S8's and S4's are charcoal grey.
My sig center is a v.2 and that grill looks a shade lighter.
I hadn't noticed it... until you two made me look.:D

I think this thread was a new World Record thread-jack ... what did it take, 5 posts?

I would however love to hear why the Paradigm designers seem to think that flush mounting drivers is a pointless endeavour.

I was told a long time ago by a Paradigm dealer that ever since the introduction of the Signature line, if the Studio's get an upgrade the Sigs follow right after. Reason being is that he found out that the studio's were extremely similar to the last generation signatures that went before them. For example he said that when the v.4 Studio came out, they came out with the v.2 Sigs right after and the v.4 looked and sounded extremely similar to the v.1 Sigs. And isn't it just me or do the new Studio v.5's look extremely similar to the current v.2 Sigs?

Honestly it's pretty ingenious of Paradigm if they do that since they really only have to design one line from the ground up instead of two.

New Studio 20

Current Signature S2

Is it just me or isn't that exact same speaker except for the colors on the midbass driver being swapped? If this holds to be true the new Studio 20 might just be the bargain of the century at $1000/pair.

They are very close indeed, although the new studios only got a cabinet upgrade, the sigs have a ? better ? mid bass driver, and Be tweeter.

I am looking forward to what Paradigm will come out with for the upgrade of the Signature speakers...

And Mr-Speaker Builder.... Maybe the next iteration of the Paradigm sigs will look something like this .... HEHHEHEH We can only hope... they sure are pretty... Maybe you could get a job over with them as a designer... :)

If Paradigm announces a new Signature line after the release of the Studio v.5 I bet the Studio v.5's are just rebadged Signature v.2's. Even if the Studio does not get the Be tweeter, I bet the rest of the speaker is a Sig v.2.

Haha, well thank you ... but if Paradigm tried to produce that cab construction with their margins it'd end up costing about $15K  They might do it someday, but in the meantime they'll milk customers for 5 more minor revisions before getting to that point.

A job in Canada? St Louis winters are bad enough!

Thanks for the props though. Imagine how good a pair would look in your system!

This is interesting to know since I auditioned 100's a couple of months back. I'll have to look at the site and talk to my dealer about this. Maybe I'll put my purchase on hold for now.

Someone over at AVS posted pics of what seems to be the new line of Paradigm Studio's... .v5
Seem to be much prettier. Tapered cabinets, and real wood veneer?
I am looking forward to seeing more info about these.

If anyone else has a chance, could they take some more pics at Cedia over there and upload
I was looking at the brochure for the studio series that I have had at home for at least six or more months, and I noted that it says "v5" on them. It seems these have been out for a long time now. However, at the Paradigm site, there is a v6 catalog on line. Here is the link. Nee I say more?:D

I think what you are looking at is the # of the brochure itself... #6..

reference_catalog_6.pdf <- copied from the link you provided.

They are currently on .v4 of the Studio line
.v5 of the Monitor line
.v2 of the Signature line...

The new version of the Studio's will have a rounded cabinet and it will be .v5.

How come the signature line is not on that brochure if it's the latest one?

Can everyone say Sig v.3 incoming!!!!!! :D

I found this photo elsewhere - http://www.flickr.com/photos/glennqnyc/2866408503/

Perhaps they are versioning the catalog. If you look at their downloads page, most all of the brochures are now branded "NEW".

I think his speakers should sell for about 10k. He-he.
Ryan, did you get your hands on Illuminators? How are they?

Are all those speakers in this photo in the studio line? If so, what is that speaker right next to the 20? Is that the new 60? If so, it looks like they added another driver, right? The old 60 was basically just a 40 in a bigger cabinet - which I found rather pointless.

I wonder then, if they added another driver to the 60, did they add another driver to the 100s?

Perhaps this was already pointed out - but can anyone confirm that?
