Oops read that wrong @William Lemmerhirt . I wasn't aware of Schaak getting bought out by S.O. M.
Iirc, when schaak went out of business, SOM bought all their inventory. Somewhere along the line they turned into Best Buy. So I guess DLK was local as Schaak was on Snelling ave.
I live in the BRD area. Or the BLA as they say on the local radio, lol

Nice. Sort of local in a way! Schaak had numerous locations. I bought a system from them around '76 or '77 at Southdale in Edina. The system had a h/k 330B.

I just called Midwest and they sell them at the store for around $3 less each. I might just head up there tomorrow.

They are in Roseville, they say they are not Chinese knock offs and are accurate replacements. At that price you can't go wrong. If you go to Roseville and buy the woofers, I bet you will get a better deal.
Yeah, been there a few times over the years. Do you need anything while I'm there? I'll probably go tomorrow, since they are closed on Saturdays. Thanks for looking into it!

Thanks, there is nothing I need at the moment. My speakers seem in working order at the moment.

Wow! I was 2 or 3yo then lol. In the early 80’s I discovered my dad’s reel to reel. It wasn’t great, but I loved it.

The magnets on the replacements look to be twice the size as on the original woofers.

The back of the RS 1000's say nothing about impedance. Midwest apparently stocks 4 and 8 ohm of this replacement. Which should I be requesting? I am no genius at that stuff.

There is one woofer in each speaker, correct? If that is the case it could be either. Take out one of the drivers and measure the DC resistance of the VC with your multimeter. If it is less than 4 ohms you need to the four ohm version, if it is more than four ohms you need the 8 ohm version. The DC resistance will always be lower than the impedance of the driver.

I was born in 1960. We count from 1 to 10. Not zero to 9. So does that mean I was born in the 50's?
Well no? I was born in ‘74. So in 76 or 77 I would have been 2 or 3 depending on if you bought that setup in 76 or 77. Did I miss something?
