I don't mind some film grain either. The noise can tie together an image nicely sometimes. I sometimes think that film grain gets overly emphasized sometimes by the more oldschool enthusiasts. Almost every review or critique on a movie's picture quality brings seems to bring it up as a major point. There are some films that are de-grained and the complaining about it is somewhat incessant in certain circles. The semi-recent Cameron 4k releases were an example of that and, for the most part, I found them to look fine. I brought it up in the context of wondering if it was an element given more priority in that 5-star list, given that the list contained a lot of older films.
The worst 4K Digital movie, Video Rating 3.5, is The Creator. :D

Ridley Scott’s “Kingdom of Heaven” 4K ATMOS is coming out May 27.

It will most likely come out right before Tron: Ares. If you have the blu ray, that copy almost has Atmos. They put a 7.1 on there.
Yeah the TRON Legacy 1080p BD DTS-HD MA version looks and sounds great. But I still want the 4K ATMOS version.

I think they're going to do a double release. Hit the original Tron and Tron Legacy.

It's unfortunate that Daft Punk wasn't able to do the soundtrack to Tron: Ares. Would've been awesome if they could've topped their amazing soundtrack from Legacy. :D

Just like the 3D, it had both too. Ares is one of the best 3D films out.

Daft Punk broke up unfortunately.

Yeah, it's unfortunate they broke up. Though I just saw like a month or two ago that they were going to perform at some concert. Maybe do a possible tour?

Daft Punk was created in 1993 and I'd say that is very long run. I wish them well in whatever they decide to do.

Even if they don't get back together as a duo, maybe they can still score films.
Go the way of Trent Reznor. They wouldn't have to go on any tours anymore, no CD labels to worry about. Just go in, score movies/TV and collect checks.

He does both though :) NIN stopped for a while for him to do film scores and that gave him a new found need to create something other than film scores lol. I was at the "final" show for NIN here in our area back in like 2010 or so. Then I saw them again in 2018 when they came back :D They called it an extended break, not a break up. And I will see them this Aug.

What's funny is that for so many years NIN was just Trent. Then Atticus was added as a permanent member, but not the other guys.

Sounds like they just go back and forth scoring films and touring. My buddy is going to see them some time this year.

Watched the new Captain America: Brave New World 4k last night. Yikes! I can see why it bombed at the box office. Felt more like a Disney+ streaming movie. The graphics were subpar, the story was horrible and the action was mediocre at best. It's crazy that it took them 17 years to finally do something with a character they created way back in 2008. I did watch the Falcon and the Winter Soldier back when it first aired and thought it was absolute garbage. So I was kind of familiar with the back story and some of the characters. At first I thought Anthony Mackie's CA had taken the super solider serum, based on how he was fighting, but he never did. Then, throughout the movie and at the end during the Red Hulk fight he does things no actual human could ever do.

This new character that's supposed to be another "Black widow" trained fighter, she's like 5' tall and looks to weight about 90lbs and she's taking down guys triple her size. Haha!! :D when she's on screen with the others it looks like she's some teenager hanging out with the team. Besides that, let's just say this was an easy paycheck for Harrison Ford.

Regarding the Picture and sound. The picture was terrible for a 4k release. It was not clean at all. You would think a $200m+ movie would have a nice looking 4k picture. Not this one. Too much grain, fuzziness in a lot of scenes. I'm guessing that was a lens choice. The sound was mid at best. Explosions had some booms, but overall nothing "demo worthy" about it. Like I was saying above, this looked and sounded exactly like a Disney+ streaming movie.

I'm going to give this movie a 5/10.

5 is maybe generous. It was really bad.

The last few Disney movies that had live action and CGI, have been horrible. They look super low budget.

The stories were crap too, so that didn't help.

That's one reason as to why I have Disney+ and don't go to cinema with very expensive tickets when I can take my wife to a nice dinner for a bit (more, really) more.
