Hi All,
I recently acquired a Marantz NR1603 receiver. The receiver specs are as follows:
-50 W (8 Ω, 20 Hz – 20 kHz with 0.08 % T.H.D.)
-80 W (6 Ω, 1 kHz with 10 % T.H.D.)
I am considering acquiring the Pioneer SP-PK52FS (S-HSAJ2 here in Canada) 5.1 speakers. However, according to
Pioneer SP-PK52FS 5.1 Floorstanding Speaker System Review | Audioholics , the speakers are basically 6 ohm speakers. I am therefore concerned that these speakers may result in high T.H.D. when combined with this receiver, and therefore may not be a good selection in my case.
Can anybody comment?
If the Pioneer speakers are not a good choice for this receiver, what would be a better recommendation in the same price range?
Thank you for your advice
Dan
PS: I currently have a set of old Boston Acoustics A70 speakers connected for stereo output. Opinions regarding their sound quality for use as Left and Right in a 5.1 system: am I better off retiring them and getting all new speakers?
