One of the big reasons is because there are fewer stores. With less stores, people shop more online and what is the first thing people see on most inexpensive speaker searches? Polk. People know the name and people will go with a name they've heard over one they haven't. In all honesty, they aren't total crap, but we know there are better bang for the buck out there.
