Why didn't they choose an AVR?

Seriously, I have no life.
Absolutely! I owned one TA-3200F for over 40 years years and recently sold it. The only service it required was the replacement of the pilot lamp.
I saw a couple with blown fuses, but that's about the extent of the repairs, in close to 40 years (I started working at the stereo store in Feb, '78). One other had launched the fuse and I had a friend re-bias it (using the service manual, scope, etc- he has built/designed/serviced audio gear for over 50 years and was the service department when I started at the store) and when I fired it up here, it brought memories back to me.

Who owns Mark Levinson and JBL now? Samsung?
Harman International has (3) groups..
Consumer: HK, JBL, Infinity, Revel, Lexicon, Mark Levinson, Arcam
Pro: JBL-Pro, Crown, DBX, AKG, SoundCraft
12V OE Infotainment: Using HK consumer brands

Total purchase $8 billion, so now Harman International is a subsidiary of Samsung.

Just my $0.02... ;)

still be better than anything Polk produces !
Polk?

I don't think Polk was ever in competition with Salon2, that would be the likes of KEF, B&W, Dynaudio, etc.

Oh, wait, didn't some company also buy out B&W ? :D

Seriously, I have no life.
And a Chinese money pit bought into Dynaudio. I hope they're only using it to infuse money (that's what I was told) and they let Denmark work without interference. If their new in-ceiling speakers are any indication, this is happening- I installed a pair of the 6-1/2" and they're probably the best-sounding in-ceiling speakers I have heard below about $1000 each.
