thanks for the responses, so i run the suurounds and heights off the yamaha receiver ( either or its a 7 channel receiver) my A9s center and back surrounds are running of an Emotiva A700, its a 7 channel 80 watts RMS all channels driven, 1 channel for center channel, 2 channels used for back surrounds A3s, the other remaining channels (4) run the A9s, 2 channels At 80 watts to EACH speaker ( spilt rca, so i figure 160 watts to each A9 biamped stlyle, each A9 takes up 2 channels from the Emotiva. I want to get a second power amp to run the A9s alone, and have my existing Emotiva 7 channel amp run all the surrounds and center. Thinking of the basx300, 2 channel amp( 150 watts RMS 2 channels driven) is that enough? Will it make a difference if they hAve there own separate Emotiva? Is 150 watts rms each enough for the A9s, or 2 basx 300,s one for each A9 or is that overkill since all my speakers are set to small? I have 3 12 inch self powered subs in the set, other info asked by some replies are listening distance is 10 feet from A9s,room is a closed off 20x20 feet, rock music and like to let it rip around -15db on the yamaha setting.
