Yeah, Tidal has to deal with the MQA tracks, most 96Hz, going to FLAC now that MQA is no longer supported there. I'm sure it is making a mess of lots of things until sorted out. Tidal Connect is a great update and needs to find its way to Integra/Onkyo/Pioneer. But, that would mean losing the built-in app I'm sure as it did with Spotify. The new JBL receivers come with Spotify Connect and Tidal Connect out of the box. So, those apps in Smart devices act like the remote controller and the audio signal is actually sent directly to the supported AVP/AVR from the service instead of from the Smart device.
However one streams Tidal, it needs to be set to MAX in the app settings or 24/192 tracks will not stream that way. There may still be issues until they clean everything up. Chromecast will still limit things to 24/96 unless things have changed lately there and Airplay 2 at 16/44.1.
