There is an Asian tradition, that the "Mandate of Heaven" is held by the emperor... and if/when an emperor is dethroned/replaced... the "Mandate of Heaven" moves to the new emperor.

A remarkably pragmatic approach... whoever is up there obviously has the "Mandate of Heaven" ... in other times and places, "Might makes Right" - absolutely part of the MAGA/Trump ethos.

Last bit of news I heard was the left engine (GE) of the 34 year old aircraft literally fell off as the plane was trying to take off. This mornings death toll is up to 12........

And yet, the B-52 is still being used after 70 years, with upgraded engines.

I have to think they swap engines occasionally and do metallurgical testing of the mounting points. I guess we'll find out if the bolts came out/broke or if the mount itself failed. Hopefully, it's not sabotage- we definitely don't need that to become a common event.

Most likely a lose of a engine show the plane taking off, like falling off the wing. Airport CCTV footage showed the left engine detaching from the wing on take off. .

Yes, very sad about the numbers killed.
I guess we need to wait for more timelines of events. This morning, I think I heard the wing was on fire then engine fell off.
The airframe may be old but I am pretty sire engine was nowhere near that age. Perhaps there was work on that engine or even replaced between this flight and last and someone screwed up on mounting bolts?
Need more info. Engines just don't fall off.
