Is my theater too large for substantial bass

It's a slippery slope. I'm on the slide. I didn't just instantly transport to the bottom !
Kids in college, wife, vac property, other expensive hobbies. Limited funds to go around.

Looking like it will be dual HSU boxes. I'll post back when I get a few things sorted out. Including TLS's concern over the mid drivers.
It's 3 PM on Friday, and time for a Manhattan ! Cheers!

Stop being obsessed with subwoofers. Subwoofers only reproduce a small fraction of the bass.

In this subwoofer range we obsess with, we forget about the rest of the bass spectrum which goes up to 400 Hz at least. And in fact the frequencies above sub range also contain the major power bands of the bass spectrum.

I am not in the habit of making that all too common mistake.
If I only listened to the content/music you do, perhaps. In a room his size the recommendation is maybe slightly a bit much :) Then again he may need more substantial speakers too.
