How to properly configure this sub?

Was it quiet? It set new level/delay even though it couldn't detect it? Can't say ever ran into that sort of error message otoh.

PS Then again the Sony setup/sub integration routine isn't very good
Yes it was quiet, do I leave those values of decibels?

I thought it would be easy but I don't know why is not working

I bought this RCA cable https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B003FVYXY0?ie=UTF8&th=1 and connected it to the Sony STR here:

I connected the other end here:

But I'm not getting any output please help!
Pardon my ignorance. My old sub only has one input. Does the Monolith manual care if you plug the cable into either input? If I'm interpreting your pic correctly... try plugging into input 1 instead of 2 if the manual says it's okay?

You will need a short y-splitter with one female end to 2 male ends plug them into the left and right input on the sub but I’d still up the subs gain first then rerun the calibration .

Personally I like it further below 0 to allow for some boosting if necessary later....so I'd raise the gain a bit more and run it again.
Further below zero:

I ran the test 4 different times and the 4 times got different values, same room noise one after the other. What should I do?

Seems you're on the right track with the -1.0 result. Without seeing how you set gain on the sub for each picture of the avr's result, hard to know.
The gain on the knob of the sub is the same on the same 4 tests, I didn't touched it

Then I think you're just seeing variances with the mic placement/software. DCAC may not be doing you any favors....but try upping the gain on the sub to push it further into the negative range in any case.

The mic placement was exactly the same the 4 times, I think upping the gain and recalibrating won't do anything because the calibration results keep being inconsistent, any other suggestions?

Don't use MCAC? Upping the gain on the sub should push the avr trim level into the negative range. Single mic has limitations in any case.

What is MCAC?

I can push the knob to 0 or even more but why does the manual recommend to have it a 12 o'clock?

Oops, sorry meant DCAC, Sony's acronym for their "Digital Cinema Auto Calibration" (was partially thinking Pioneer's MCACC I guess :) )
The manual is just guessing at a median point for setting gain on the sub as it hasn't got much to go on....a guess.
