Anyone owns this one, or plans to buy one?

Is there any member out there that owns the Yamaha RX-Z11 A/V Surround Receiver?
Perhaps you're interested of purchasing one?

It is quite a beast (75 lbs). ;) (In the UK, they call it the DSP-Z11.)

* Have a look: http://www.areadvd.de/hardware/2008/yamaha_dsp_z11.shtml [2 pages]

~~ Sounds pretty good too. :)

Guess what? I just watched that movie last night: "Satan's Alley". :eek:

Remember? There was a trailer of it in the Blu-ray of "Planet Terror". ;)
Right after the one with "Machete"; you know, the guy with who the bad guys just happened to f*** with the wrong Mexican... Rings a bell yet? Ya, that one. ;)

Anyway, Canada Day is now officially over, so why not start fresh with a new look at different things and stuff. ;) One Trio and two Combos. :)

Emotiva XMC-1 release date.

^ Last time I heard, it was supposed to be release in 2012. :eek:

By then, I'll probably be playing with the internal surround processor in my coffin. :D

Emotiva seems to have a dream, and I don't know how they are going to realize that dream. They seem to be shooting to go beyond to good to be true to flat out impossible.

Onkyo TX-NR906 update

FYI, I recently added the Onkyo TX-NR906 into my system, along with a new TV the Samsung UN55B7000. Regarding the receiver, I had recently tried the Denon 3808CI, and Pioneer SC-05. The Onkyo's GUI and remote are much easier to use. I went through the other two receivers because they didn't seem to have the punch that my 5 yr old HK AVR520 had with my Mirage OM speakers. The Onkyo's a keeper.

I have not set the Onkyo up with it's mic set up yet because I don't have enough room to use my Mirage center speaker OM-C2. (I am using an older smaller Mirage AVS200 center in the mean time) I am waiting to have my TV mounted on the wall and get it off the TV/AV console. So far, it seems to have more punch, but possibly not as much or as bright as my HK AVR 520. I have read many posts about this receiver getting really hot? I have had it inside my new console with no fans venting off heat and it has been fine. The receiver sits on the bottom shelf with a 7" gap above it before the next shelf. The console does have several slots for natural ventilation. So, heat is not an issue.

I have encountered a possible video issue though. I am using a Motorola HD DVR box via Cox cable. I noticed that some shows have a very minor motion problem, like a real quick motion-jerk-stutter-Judder? with the picture. I have adjusted the TV and hasn't made a difference. I am running the HDMI from COX DVR to the ONKYO and out to the TV. I am using new Blue Jeans HDMI cables. I am not sure if this is a DVR box issue, HDMI cable issue, setting or TV issue. I will be re-setting the DVR Cox box and maybe running the HDMI strait to the TV?

Thanks to Bob for recommending this Onkyo receiver. :)
I wish I would have bought this receiver in the beginning and by passed the Denon and Pioneer. Even the lay out of the speaker terminals are superior to the other two.

I will give more updates as I dive into this receiver.

^ Hey buddy.

Hi sedonalar,

It goes without saying how happy I am to have just read your post.
It's good to hear from you again.
In particular on this 4th of July. :) Happy Independence Day. :)

I'll make my post very brief for now, relating to your video issue.

* Simple: Follow these easy steps without questioning, just trust me on this. :)
It's all in the Advanced Setup section (near the end) from your 906's manual.

1. Lip Sync: Disable.
2. xvYCC: Disable.
3. Control: Disable.
4. Power Control: Disable.
5. TV Control: Disable.

Now, for the most important one (from OSD Setup):

* Immediate Display: OFF.

Let me know if this fix the problem.
And keep in touch for the latest developments both sides of the border. :)

Cheers,

Bob
