If it's not guaranteed 1080i, why would I risk not maximizing my picture quality?

Splitter necessities

Most important things about a good splitter, in my opinion:
1. Number of Inputs / Outputs - Has to have enough for all my equipment.
2. Type (DVI, HDMI, Audio, etc) of Inputs / Outputs - Need as many input and output types as possible, sometimes some of my equipment is rather dated.

Qualities in a DVI + HDCP Compact possess?

First of all it should be as affordable as it can be. It MUST have ALL of the in and outputs you need. Cable guage and connectors must be sufficient and of top quality, with nice gold connectors. Must EASILY handle 1080i. Heck, even down to the insulation. Just the best quality with the best resourses built in and at a decent price but then everybody wants that.
