I have a couple of iPods and several iPod docks on systems around the house. I currently have no way to stream music to systems. I do listen to Pandora on the Roku some.

3. Would you be interested in a powered speaker that you could plug into any AC outlet and then play music from your personal collection via your computer without any other components?

No. My cell phone doesn't even have a camera, if you can believe it.

Answers to questions for drawing

1- Yes I have heard of these functions from Apple and Microsoft. I doubt Microsoft's will work reliably on the pc end. The Apple version might be useful when friends come over and want to share something from a phone.

2- I use 2 devices. I have an older Apple TV. All of my cd's are on the Apple TV hard drive so I don't have to stream them, I sync through I tunes to make additions. The Apple TV is connected via optical and component because it's not limited by these connections. I use the WDtv to play 24 bit FLAC files, via hdmi. I copy the flac files to a usb notebook hard drive that is left attached to the WDtv.

3- I use either my computer or AV system to listen to music. I don't have a need for a set of speakers like that.

4- I have an Iphone 4
