Contest Question: Do you currently use acoustic room treatments in your home theater? If yes, what do you use and what would you like to see improved over you current acoustic treatments? If no, is there something in particular that you are looking for in a product that would make you choose to move forward with acoustic room treatments?
No. And there's nothing that'll really make me want to treat my room. It just doesn't fit my style aesthetically, unfortunately.

Thanks for the heads up on the contest!

I do not currently us acoustic treatments. However, I am interested in doing so. I am concerned about controlling bass and how to integrate bass traps into a large room that is shared with children. They need to blend will with the wall and stand up to little fingers that may want to pull them from their locations. It's a tricky situation.

I don't have any acoustic panels, because my home theater is in my living room, maybe some day when I move into a dedicated theater room I will set then up. I have heard music in treated and an untreated rooms at a local dealer and the difference is amazing. Yes people room acoustics play a huge role in getting the right sound.

Yes. I am using 4 inches of Owens Corning 703 rigid fiberglass insulation following the instructions I found in this link. http://www.helixrecording.com/Bass_Traps.html

I do not use room treatments in my current listening space. However, I plan to incorporate them in the future once a dedicated space is built...hopefully within the next decade, lol. Currently, the looks would just not fit in with the decor of our home in the main living room.

Room Treatments?

Newbie here, I don't know what a room treatment is?

I need to do a little reading because obviously it's a popular topic.

Not right now.

But I'm in the process of building a casual theater room and do plan on using acoustic panels as long as I can find the right style and at a decent price.

I am a firm believer though I placed acoustic dampening material throughout the interior of our GMC Envoy(Headliner, Doors, etc.). It made are already quiet Envoy even better and made the factory bose system sound even more crisp with nice tight bass.

1. I do not use room treatments.

2. ...

3 I might consider room treatments if they were more discreet. Perhaps if they could fit around the artwork in the room. And also if they were a bit less expensive.

Currently have a Subdude under my MFW-15 Sub but that's about it. My acoustics suck because as of now, I have tile flooring and only 2 couches with no area rugs. Acoustic treatments would probably help but WAF is keeping me from using them. My room is also open to other rooms which does not help much.

No. I don't use room treatments. It would be a strong consideration if I had a dedicated home theater. They might be possible if they could be used in place of...say...drywall with the same type of funcitonality (hanging pictures and such.)

There's also a strong resistance from the misses.

I currently do not use room treatments

I would like to see affordable room treatments that offer various colors and/or patterns. I would also like to see an innovative mounting system that is simple and easy for the average DIYer. But, more importantly I would love the treatments to come with easy to discern advice about placement and advice or literature about what treatments a person would need for their ceiling height and room shape.

Considering my "home theater" is also my (small) bedroom room treatments would be a bit of a waste, . At this point I'd rather spend what little money I have on better hardware (like an eD sub... hint, hint ;) ).

When I win the Lottery I will most definitely have a dedicated Theater/game room and it will be treated.

I don't now use room treatments besides heavy drapes on my windows right next to my sub. I would use other treatments except the size of the options I've seen would take of too much valuable floor space in my not too large condo. If they could be smaller I'd be on board. BTW no WAF (GF's have much less say :D) makes design less an issue.

I don't currently use acoustic room treatments in my home theatre because it's also my living room, and I'd like to retain a certain kind of aesthetic. I'm willing to look into certain kind of wall treatments as long as it works well in my space. But at the moment, I'm making do with plush furniture and thick rugs. Bass traps, the ones I've seen anyway, are not terribly pretty, and take up a lot of room. A smaller one might be possible someday.

So to answer the second question, I'm looking for room treatments that are inexpensive and look good and don't take up too much room. Not easy to find something that will satisfy all three requirements, I know, but there it is.

Right now I have a system with and one without treatments. The system with treatments does sound better. I use a subdude and some homemade treatments. Eventually I plan on buying some good treatments. My system in the living room will never have treatments per wife lol. Sure would LOVE to own a A7-700! Thanks for the chance to win guys.

Later, Daman

Yes, I use Aurolux acoustical treatments in my main HT system. I would like to see an cost friendly alternative beisdes DIYer or the higher cost of prefab treatments.

At times I put them up but most of the time the only thing in use is my Gramma under my sub.

A new wife?

No, I do not currently use acoustic room treatments.

I'm looking for something COST EFFECTIVE. Lots of these room treatments are out of this world expensive relative to the value they offer to the customer.
