I'll probably spend a couple hundred on a small, decent quality sub. We just finished an addition and got tons of other stuff to pay off.

If so, what components are you considering – a projection screen or masking system perhapsI plane to buy a new carada Criterion Series 1.78 to 1 126" BW screen for my new projector
How soon after receiving that check do you expect to make your purchase
I would like to purchase the moment the money is in my account which should be this week

Probably not. I've spent a lot of money on my home theater system(s) in the past 24 months or so. I'm currently in upgrade/replace photo gear mode as well as planning some computer upgrades.

"If so, what components are you considering – a projection screen or masking system perhaps??" :)

No plans for that although I may be helping a friend choose such things soon.

I'm not really waiting, I'm probably going to make some purchases now to upgrade certain components in my year-old computer. The process will be done by drawing money that I have already set aside for a new camera, so my rebate will likely go to replacing the money removed from my camera account or growing that pot of money further since the camera I want hasn't been announced and no price is known yet.

Maybe - it depends on how business is this month. Actually hoping others will so business will pick up. :)

If I upgraded anything it would probably be my sub. Already have a PJ and screen. I don't think $600 + $200 = $masking system ;)

"How soon after receiving that check do you expect to make your purchase?"

As soon as the money burns a hole in my pocket or the rent check clears... whichever comes first.

I think I'll spend some on a Blu-ray player, but not 'till around the holiday season. I'm hoping the prices will be more in my neighborhood...

No plans to upgrade the HT now (at least not without incentive!)

No, sadly, I won't get a rebate check this year.

I'm looking into a new TV (50+inch plasma). I'm not considering a projector/screen yet, since that will wait until we move to a house with a more appropriate room.

The purchase date is unsure now, since I'm waiting to see if the some the new anti-glare and deeper black plasma sets fit my needs.

Sadly, I don't plan to spend any of my rebate check on HT. I'll be paying down debt instead. The next AV purchase though is probably a new receiver. I guess the answer to the third question is that I plan to spend my rebate check almost immediately after I receive it--just not on anything fun :(

Room Treatments

It will definitely go towards room treatments.

Actually it will go toward a large rug for the great room. Hopefully, that will help (both with reflections and with WAF) when she eventually allows me to upgrade from 2.0 to 5.1. She has no idea the rug has anything to do with the upgrade to surround sound.
