I think I actually went into cardiac arrest twice. Then I tore my vocal cords when Hartley nailed that kick. I've never screamed like that in my life.
Yeah, when Hartley lined up for that kick, I kept saying, "Don't pull a Kaeding. Don't pull a Kaeding." You know why Hartley nailed that kick? John Carney. Good to see him on the sideline. I miss having him as our kicker. Carney almost never missed.

Hartley is the guy who missed the game-winner against Tampa Bay a few weeks ago.

The Saints have cut Carney a few times. Each time, the guy they end up with immediately misses critical field goals, like at the Bucs game. Kid came through this time though.

That last personal foul was a load of BS!! I'm all for protecting QBs from illegal hits, but when you've got your arms around the QB while he's throwing the ball it shouldn't ever be called a late hit..
Yeah, I agree 100%! But sometimes it is warranted. Some really bad officiating imho. I am sure it will be brought up quite a bit. ;):);)

LOL like Minnesota didn't get some calls either. That first roughing the passer was BS and the drive was dead if not for that call. Still a few bad calls are part of football.

The new rules about "protecting the QB" is pure BS. I have seen over a dozen calls this season where literally a linebacker or defensive lineman touched the helmet of the QB and it is flagged for 15 yards. This is not including where a defensive players momentum hits the QB. What a crock! It ruins the game of football unfortunetly.

Late hits and the "intentions" to hurt the QB is pretty obvious and what they call nowadays makes it almost impossible for defenses to pressure the QB.

Yeah, that's tough. The first thought that came to mind was to borrow from basketball's recent set of rules regarding flagrant fouls. Level 1 and Level 2. Perhaps a 5 yard penalty for the Level 1. I'm just blurting out.

Right, but it just seemed a bit over the top during this game. Maybe I am wrong, but it sure seemed that way to me. After all, anything can happen in any given game.

They used to have those in football for face masks, the 5 and 15 yard variety... but it ended up being too subjective of a call. Football has too many players and moves much too quickly to have different levels of calls. I don't like that ticky tack stuff gets a 15 yard penalty, but it's better than a referee trying to determine intent.

Peyton's NEVER beat Philip. My dream? More like your nightmare.

Go Drew!!!!!
Who gives a crap if Peyton has beaten Rivers? They've played twice, and in both games Rivers played relatively mediocre and was bailed out by special teams (kickoff and punt returns for TDs in the first game) or the game was won on the strength of the running game. Not exactly a relevant sample size here...

Rivers is a stud QB, but he hasn't won jack. Pretty sure Peyton Manning is quite secure with his lot in life.

When was the last time that two number one seeds faced off in the SB?

Yeah if the hit happens to Romo it's not a penalty. Still the QB favoritism has been happening all season long. It's the NFLs fault not the refs. The Refs are being yelled at to protect the QB at all costs. I really just want a consistent call. Give a certain time limit or something.
