I'm happy with the trade.:D
I think everyone's happy with the trade. SD fans are happy because we got the better QB, NY fans are happy because they got a SB.

But Eli's still a bum and I'll hate him as long as I live.

That's your point of view, but it's not reality.;)

Really? Show me one QB stat where Eli is better than Philip.

*.
Wins
Wins in big games...

Just threw that second one in there for good measure.
In case you didn't know, these are the only stats that really mean anything.

As I said, Philip would show Eli how a real QB plays. Eli will NEVER be an elite QB in this league. He is a good QB that can play well enough to not lose the game, as long as the defense plays well. Now that the defense is showing weakness, Eli's ineptness is becoming more apparent. Eli plays well, just not well enough. Eli can't carry the Giants on his back like Philip can.

Lights out is finally back! His recovery from knee surgery took a long time, but he's finally showing the strength and backside pursuit that he's been missing. 2 sacks in back to back games is sick!

Did I not say that the Giants secondary wouldn't be able to cover VJ and Gates? Once again VJ shows that he is clutch. There were 3 easy catches on third down that were dropped, 2 to Gates!!! I couldn't believe it. The Giants CB's had a couple of good plays, but pretty much all day they were getting torched by our receivers.

Bottom line is Rivers OWNS the Mannings. He's owned Peyton for years and now he owns Eli. If Archie still played, Philip would own him too :D
Could you have just applyed some lube before hand  I won't refute your statements but I do disagree about Rivers being better than the Mannings. I'll let you just enjoy it today because you have taken a severe beating over the last few years. For once your team came through.

Oh and btw, after they scored the game winning td, for a second there I thought Rivers was going to go run along the Giants sideline and taunt them.

I would have loved it if he had.

"Congratulations on owning me and my brother."

"Thanks douche."

Rivers gets redemption while making Bolts look smart. With one drive Sunday, he demonstrated to San Diego, New York City and millions of television viewers why he was the quarterback the Chargers wanted over Eli Manning and why he was the quarterback they wanted over Drew Brees. He was accurate. He was poised. He was smart with the football. And he won.

Darien- I can take the trash talk like a man, but not quite sure how you say that Rivers outplayed Manning yesterday, and Eli certainly wasn't the reason that the Giants lost.

Their stats are relatively comparable but Rivers threw 2 interceptions, with that last one being a major mistake throw into coverage that almost cost them the game. He did go back out and lead them on a big drive and he deserves major props for that, but that situation was almost entirely because of Rivers' own doing.

As for why the Giants lost- there were two reasons IMO. 1) I have no idea why we took the ball out of Eli's hands down near the goal line on the last drive. The holding penalty was a killer, but you gotta at least throw twice into the end zone! I would have been happier with an interception than settling for a field goal. 2) The Giants defense could not make a stop when it counted. No excuses, no ifs/ands/buts, they just didn't make a stop.

Me thinks there may be a little bitterness left over from the whole, "I refuse to play for SD" thing a few years back.

Yeah, you're probably right. All right I'll lay off. I'm probably coming off like a **** because of my intense, seething hatred for Eli. My apologies to the Giant fans.

I still say Philip is the better QB. Although he made HUGE mistakes in throwing those 2 picks, Philip was able to pick his team up and drive them down the field to score the winning TD. That's something that Eli can't do. As I said, Eli is a good QB, I just don't think he's a great QB.

I think the Giants lost because Coughlin lost faith in Eli and tried putting the game in the hands of the defense. Unfortunately, conservative play-calling can kill ya. Marty Schottenheimer anyone?

But going by stats and the types of tough games that Rivers has won, (anyone remember him winning a game while playing on a torn ACL?), Rivers is the better QB.

No worries. Just picking on you. I'd be pissed too if we drafted someone who refused to play for us.

Oh, but he can, and has. Ever see SuperBowl 42?

Haha. He also did it in game 2 of this year against Dallas- a great example of a game where the defense was horrible but the offense bailed them out.

Light's out is back baby!

Beautiful hit by Weddle. The kid gets run over sometimes because of his size, but he always seems to be in on the play. It was cool to hear the Giant fans go, "Ooooooooooohhhh" after that hit.

Can't blame you there.
The knock on Eli a few seasons ago was that he played great for the last 2 minutes before the half and before the end of a game, but didn't play well the rest of the game. His QB rating was like 30 points higher for those last two minutes vs the rest of the games.
He can do the 2 minute thing with the best of them. He's really coming around to be a very good QB. Too bad that the rest of the team is falling apart.

You must have been watching a different game then me.

I wouldn't say winning with 21 seconds left in the game by 1 point is worthy of all the BULLSHIT your typing on this page.
