My Wife is a steelers fan , well sorta of , she says their coach has the look of a true sporting coach, I guess she's right, lol ,

She really rooted heavily for them in the Bowl as she just can't stand the Cardinals also I gave her the whole Steagles story about the Pennsylvania teams joining together during world war deuce , and she was touched, :)
So now she thinks its OK to root for The Eagles and the Steeler team, I just let it go...
I'm starting to see your evil side.;)

The Nets play closer to NYC than the Giants or Jets.

Sure, it's only about a half mile closer, but it's still closer ;)
Most teams (not all) are named for the closest big city. Not sure how the whole state line thing got involved.

In this case both the Giants and the Jets originally played in NYC. The Giants started play at the Polo Grounds and then were at Yankee Stadium for a number of years, while the Jets were at Shea Stadium.

When they both moved to NJ (the Giants to open their new stadium in the 70s, the Jets in the 80s) they both kept the "NY" moniker even though neither team played its home games in NY. For years I know that the Jets retained their headquarters on Long Island, but within the past couple of years they moved to NJ, so now neither team has any formal affiliation with the state of NY (except for training camp) but they are still referred to as NY teams.

Not that anybody really gives a crap.... :D:D:D:D

But my point is that they were named after the city of New York, not the state of New York. Many teams do not play in the city they were named after. Often they play just outside of the city. That's what the Jets and Giants do also. The fact that there is a state line involved has nothing to do with them playing for the city of New York.

Wait! You've got it all backwards. The Pack may be wretched without a real O line, but the evil designation belongs to the Cowboys! America's team my @......:p I'm almost afraid to watch this week.
We don't freeze clocks to win games. ;)

Landry kind of made them popular in the country because he was such a great guy. Jones has done a lot to polarize folks, but at the end of they day. The Cowboys bring the highest ratings, have the highest value, and now have the best stadium. :D Too bad we christened it with a 4 turnover loss to the Gnats. It will be a good game the Cowboys better be ready to play because I know the Packers will be. Is there anything in Green Bay besides ice and snow?:( That's all I saw when I was there. ;)

It goes:

1. Roethlisberger
2. Rivers
3. Manning

Take that NY fans. :p

http://www.forbes.com/2009/11/02/nfl-best-quarterbacks-lifestyle-sports-football-ben-roethlisberger.html

Giants fans may have a problem with Rivers ranking second, since Manning won his team the ultimate game, a feat Rivers has yet to accomplish. But would anyone argue that Trent Dilfer, a Super Bowl winner in 2001, was better than Dan Marino, who retired without a championship? Not a chance.
Here is another you can add.. Jim McMahon to go along with Doug Williams and Dilfer. If you put Rivers in either situation with the Steelers or Giants he to wins a Super Bow, but Rivers averages about 28/game and the other two can't touch this...hammer time....;):)

Dilfer is hard to watch on ESPN. Still the guy was a good QB he had a long winning streak that continued after Baltimore actually. I think it was a classic case of a team trying to improve what didn't need fixing.

Of course no way in Hell is he Dan Marino, but no one is.

Some Great QBs that never won a super bowl are.

1. Dan Marino
2. Archie Manning
3. Warren Moon
4. Jim Kelly
5. Boomer Esiason

That's 5 and I'm not even trying.

I wouldn't list Eli above any of those guys either. The best QBs playing right now are Brett Favre, Peyton Manning, Drew Brees, Tom Brady, Big Ben.

Rivers, Romo, Eli, Palmer, McNabb are all 2nd tier right now in my mind.

Anyone remember Fran Tarkington?
Sure do.....:D. I was a fan of the Vikings because of Bud Grants roots in the CFL...and boy could FT scramble....:D Wasn't he the frist QB to pass for 50,000 yrds and I believe they(the Vikings) lost 4 super bowls. John Elway was going down that beaten path but we all know he finally got the ring. IMO winning a championship shouldn't qualify you as Elite but it sure can help. IMo...when people look back on a career, Philip Rivers numbers will speak for themselve.

Gotta disagree with ya there. I think it's nuts to put Rivers down with the likes of Tony Romo and Carson Palmer.

Huge game coming up this week. Colt and Pats go at it on primetime HDTV. Winner will be crowned as top dog to this point. NO may lay claim but I think it's between these two for the AFC.
