Not winning at the moment.

Little things like that cost games.
It forced them to redo third and long 5 yards further back. And made no negative impact on the game.

MTB just hates Phillips because he struggled to win in the playoffs in Buffalo.

The guy has done an excellent job with this team. The young players are developing and they have a very good offense/defense.

But I guess being first in the NFC east with a 6-2 record is imcompetent coaching.

Dallas 1st place in the division.
Norv and the Chargers beat the Giants.

Lsiberian and Darien87 must be celebrating. I am still surprised Darien has not chimed in yet.

The Giants found another way to loose. Must be a learning process. This week's lesson? Games are not over at 57 minutes. You have to play the whole 60. They're starting to piss me off.

Coughlins coaching philosophy within the last 5 minutes of the game was flawed and I blame part of this loss on him and heres why. Coughlin was happy taking the field going up by 6 with 2 minutes and leaving the game in the hands of a struggling defense (d-line played well), especially in the secondary. 2 minutes is still a lot of time in the game. You don't play safe and play the clock in that situation, you go for the kill. In either situation if they don't score a toucdown the time difference is not that much considering the opposing team has to score a touchdown and not a field goal. 2 mins is still a lot of time for an offense to march down and score on a struggling defense. The tradeoffs in Coughlins decision making was very poor.

I think in most situations you'd win a game like that though. It's very hard to go down the field with 2 mins and win. Still I think giving Eli a chance to throw would have been smart.

I agree with this but you have to take a look at the tradeoffs and how the team is playing and the situation. Do I want to put the game in the hands of my quarterback (Eli) who time and time again comes through and makes plays in these situations and ice the game or put faith in my defense that has been struggling in the secondary all year and make them stop an offense that has been tearing them up all day in the passing game.

Where are all the sacks I'm used to seeing?
The Giants were always a team of defense. The offense used to be just asked to control the ball, and score a few points now and then. Now they finally have an offense and the defense falls apart.

Kind of convenient you were nowhere to be seen when it was betting time wasn't it? :D

But props for coming in and taking your lumps.

As I said, Philip would show Eli how a real QB plays. Eli will NEVER be an elite QB in this league. He is a good QB that can play well enough to not lose the game, as long as the defense plays well. Now that the defense is showing weakness, Eli's ineptness is becoming more apparent. Eli plays well, just not well enough. Eli can't carry the Giants on his back like Philip can.

Lights out is finally back! His recovery from knee surgery took a long time, but he's finally showing the strength and backside pursuit that he's been missing. 2 sacks in back to back games is sick!

Did I not say that the Giants secondary wouldn't be able to cover VJ and Gates? Once again VJ shows that he is clutch. There were 3 easy catches on third down that were dropped, 2 to Gates!!! I couldn't believe it. The Giants CB's had a couple of good plays, but pretty much all day they were getting torched by our receivers.

Bottom line is Rivers OWNS the Mannings. He's owned Peyton for years and now he owns Eli. If Archie still played, Philip would own him too :D

The Chargers should put their fate into Rivers hands and use LT in certain situations. IMO at this time Sproles would be the better choice. Besides, I have Philip Rivers on my FF team and 31pts like this weekend against the woeful Giants secondary won't cut it.....:p.

Bill....:)

Yeah but they own the rings and you'd give up losing a couple games to indy or NY just to get a couple super bowl wins.;)

Rivers won't be an elite until he brings home a SuperBowl win. I think we'll keep Eli.:D

Not true...Doug Williams has a Ring is he elite? Marinio doesn't and he is not? Rivers is in the top 3 in NFL history for scoring points and when looking back he'll be the better QB....;)

Rivers has already shown that SD got the better end of that trade. But football is a TEAM game, and Eli had the better team around him the year that they won the SB.

Woah you are implying Doug Williams = Eli Manning:eek:

BTW playing in the worst division in football only helps your stats.
