    Acoustically Transparent Screen Any Good?

I think you could go with an SMX screen and get sonic transparency and a superior picture. I don't recall the cost off the top of my head but the performance is impressive.

    Entry Level Sound System

I've drooled over the Naim Nait 5, too. Only issue I could see is that it's not exactly a powerhouse of an amp- it's around 35 Wpc IIRC. If you're sure that stereo is all you require but want something well made and attractive, you might consider a Musical Fidelity integrated, too.

    New Shanling A3000 integrated Amp...

I've never heard any of the Shanling gear but I absolutely love the looks of everything I've seen! Ditto for some of the other Chinese tubed gear. I had an Onix SP3 and kick myself to this day for getting rid of it.

    Entry Level Sound System

That's the first question I was going to ask, too. If you were blown away by the sound you heard, let us know what speakers you were listening to. Then we can recommend something with a similar sound.

Denon 3802 for 250$ is it a good deal?

Depending on what you require, I'd say that's a good deal (the usual caveats apply- assuming a reputable seller & that it's in good condition, etc). I used to have one; when I replaced it with a 3805 I gave the 3802 to my sister and she still uses it. The 3805 is much nicer, with many features...

    Soldier

I've always loved that movie! The sound is good, lots of LFE. I thought it was well written & well acted- Russell was great I liked Connie Nielsen a lot. Jason Isaacs was a great villian, as usual (although his character in The Patriot was even more despicable!) It wasn't perfect, but I'd...

Any Reason To Buy A Dedicated CD Player?

I think before long I'm gonna pull the trigger on a Slim Devices Squeezebox and bid a fond farewell to CD players altogether. Getting up to change the disc is soooo 1990's!:D But seriously- I could rip every CD I own to FLAC and stream them all losslessly from my PC. That's like having a...

The Harmony is easy to program and simple to use. Probably the way to go for all the but the most diehard techie.

    Wii, An Xbox 360 Gateway?

It sounds a bit like wishful thinking on the part of MS. The "wii bubble" may indeed burst, but Nintendo does have one thing going for them- price. I've been an avid console gamer since about 1989, and have owned and/or played nearly every machine since then. But I don't own a 360 nor a PS3...

Digital Music - Plain and Simple, What's the best way to do it for purity of sound?

I think FLAC is the way to go, although wav.files isn't a bad idea, either. Hard drive space is dirt cheap now, so space is rarely an issue for most people. There's really no advantage to using wav.files over FLAC except simplicity. One big advantage of using a lossless storage method is...

    Red Wine I-Mod

Red Wine audio isn't a big company by any means, but they're been around for a least two or three years. Vinnie Rossi started out modding T-amps. He did well enough that he's branched out into other products.

Why won't anyone let me work for them?

I can understand the "lack of motivation." Years ago I lost my job at the bank where I worked, basically my whole team got downsized, but of course they wouldn't call it that (we were all just fired, a few at a time). The bank was being scrutized by regulators, we couldn't book new accounts...

    Heath Ledger RIP

He had a tremdous range, turning in stellar performances in roles as diverse as The Patriot and The Brother's Grimm on one end and Monster's Ball and Brokeback Mountain at the other. He always seemed totally transparent in every role I've seen him in, completely becoming that character to a...

Why won't anyone let me work for them?

I'll chime in on the thank-you letter: it's considered almost SOP nowadays, and you can hurt your chances by not doing it. At an absolute minimum you should contact the interviewer again if possible, or at least the company, thanking them for the interview and asking if there's anything you...

Why won't anyone let me work for them?

Hang in there, Seth. I can offer at least one peice of advice: for most jobs interviews, try not to look desperate. It's easy to try to hard when you really need a job, but try for enthusiastic yet professional. Employers are looking for solid employees, someone trustworthy that seems like...

HD DVD's coffin is almost nailed shut....

Ummm...so you're saying once they win the format war, Sony will pull the plug on their format and sell nothing? M'kay... As for what they might do, HD-DVD has already screwed us. I can't really damn Sony for the possibility that they might do what HD-DVD has done for a year. With...

    Financial Planners?

My advice: don't get your investment advise from an audio/video website. This is a fantastic place to get info on man/boy-toys, but check with grown-ups for money matters.;)
