I have a CD called The Liquid Tension Project. He and Tony Levin are the rythm section. Awesome, blistering jazz-metal.

My speakers are bi-ampable (though Boston explicitely says not to use an external crossover.) My new Denon (2-channel) receiver has pre-outs. My old Carver integrated has main-ins, so it can be used as a straight power amp. Is this enough to try bi-amping? If so, how do I configure it?

The claims about cables are actually relatively easy to believe compared to the claim about the "myth" of short auditory memory. It is a proven fact that auditory memory lasts a few minutes at the most. Nobody can make a valid comparison between speakers by hearing them an hour or more apart...

I think you are trying too hard to find "deeper" meaning in it. To me it was just entertainment, and succeeded on that level.

All of my previous speakers have sounded best with a lot of toe-in. The owner's manual for my new Bostons recommended minimal toe-in. This seemed odd, but I tried it and it did give me the best soundstage. I think it depends quite heavily on the particular make and model.

That is seriously cheap for a 46" (it would be pretty good even for a 42".) If you like the picture, it might be worth going for. (Not sure how to check reliability, though.)

I tried some Kimber Kables. For a little while, I thought I might have heard a difference. When I tried switching back to Home Depot 14 gauge, though, I could tell that there had actually been no difference at all.

I replace the (three) heads on my Norelco from time to time, but the razor itself has been going strong for over 15 years. My only complaint is that replacement heads have become difficult to find, since the particular model is no longer made.
