Watching "Cloverfield" this evening with a buddy of mine. I bought the BD a few months ago, but I haven't watched it yet. I wanted to wait until the new subwoofers were complete. Had to wait until my daughter was out of the house too. She and my wife will be out this evening, so I'm all set!:)

Whatever the SUBS are, I am sure it will be entertaining. Not the best flick, but some of the LFE definitely rattles the foundation.

Strange, I had read generally positive reviews. Anyway, these are the subs that will be getting the workout: http://forums.audioholics.com/forums/diy-corner-tips-techniques/84132-css-sdx12-build-thread.html
I've read a LOT of negative reviews, but I own it and I actually like it for what it is. If you've never seen it before, the main problem most people had with it I think is the fact that it is almost entirely filmed with hand cameras in an effort to give it that "realistic" look.

Started watching Hemlock Grove last night on Netflix (it is a Netflix original). Interesting enough that I will keep watching for now :)

Watched Suits(Prime) pretty good 1st episode.
I just saw this afternoon that they added that. I watched it on Hulu (non-HD) last year. I enjoyed the first season quite a bit.

Yeah it's good. That latin girl on the show is something else.:D That lead actor reminds me of McConaughey a bit.

It was rated at 77% on Rotten tomatoes, which isn't too shabby and very well-rated at Blu-Ray.com. I can understand some people having issues with the hand cameras, but I understood the effects they were trying to get and it worked for me. I found the special effects to be very well done. And, as I'd been led to believe, the sound was phenomenal! I'm glad I waited to complete the subs before watching it. The room was shaking at times.:D If I have a bone to pick, it was a bit slow to get going and it was a bit short. I guess that's a couple of bones, but whatever. Overall, I enjoyed it for what it is - as you stated.:)

Watched Argo last night. Pretty decent movie. Affleck is a bit too familiar in all of his movies now; no matter the role, he still comes across as himself.

On episode 8 or 9 of Hemlock Grove. Probably finish it this week. It has been losing a little steam but still interesting; first couple of episodes were stronger IMO. It has its crazy and entertaining moments still, but sort of losing its focus.

I liked the two Jack Nicholson cameos in Argo. I didn't catch it as being him the first time, but the second time there was no doubt. I knew it was him just by his voice. Quick search turned up this:

Finally got my BD player to play DDTrueHD and also DTS-HD MA on Saturday after doing some research. Dark Knight(2nd viewing. I saw it on IMAX first) and 500 Balloons(3rd watch. One of my faves. I love the dance sequence when he first falls in love) man did they sound fantastic. Rumble and Rumbling that I really felt, just amazing. After trying both codecs I used DDTrueHD on both movies because I felt the explosions sounded fuller and had more impact. Casino Royale and 3:10 To Yuma(which I never finished watching last year) are next.:D

I'm surprised there's been no mention of Arrested Development in here. I went on a binge viewing on Sunday :D

You won't be disappointed once you get there. The first couple are a little slow but by the end everything makes sense and it's awesome. I'll probably rewatch it soon as well :)

I never got to see it, but I want to. I watched like 10 min. last year and never got to finish it.
Yeah, the beginning is a bit brutal and long in making its point before it really gets going - 10 minutes isn't enough. Once it gets going though...:D Just realize there's a lot of dialog too, it isn't just a lot of shooting.
