We had 4-6 inches on the ground then got hit with 38 inches in 24 hours... Not only that, it's cold. It's very, very cold. I'm ready for spring already.

All weekend we had constant force 7 and 8 north winds paired with -15 Celsius weather (before wind chill... that's -30 C factored in... frost bite waiting to happen) AND snow. My car got stuck in a parking lot and I had to cab it on saturday night and pick it up later. Everywhere you went on sunday morning you would see a car in a ditch or four way flashers completely blocking the road. It was chaos. I couldn't even make it to my own house that night so I ended up passing out at my cousin's.... the roads were bad, the wind was awful, and the snow did not help.

I'm in Boston and we're expecting another 12" at least tomorrow night. Hey, what can you do, it's winter.

I think the current in vogue advice for your situation is "Man Up!"

Yes, I have heard that phrase used by the urban youth. I would rather 'hunker down' with three back to back hurricanes like when I lived in Orlando then freeze my @$$ and not be able to do anything in this mess.
I'll man up in spring....

I live in Southern Cali, and we got over a foot of snow. I love it! I would take the cold any day over the heat.

That's because you live in SoCal. Come spend a January up here... the land where positive temps (0 celcius = 32F) in winter are just the eye of the storm and considered an anomaly.

:p

I think only a select few of us here have ever experienced the searing pain caused by -50 degrees celcius after wind chills.

It seems to be used a lot by our political ruling class also. Your temps are only in the teens above. A piece of cake and perfect for a stroll.

I live in the mountains of So Cal. Every winter we get snow. I'm sure it doesn't get a crazy here as it does there, but it's not uncommon to get 1-3 feet of snow. I'm from Ohio where we got a bunch of snow every year. Like I said, I dont mind it. It's been about 20 degrees Fahrenheit here at night...with highs in the upper 30's to very low 40's.

I've always wanted to go to Canada. It looks awesome there.

I was in San Diego once, while I was in our navy. I left a lot cash in several of their fine drinking establishments. Feel free to come up and reciprocate!:D

I love snow - I hate sloppy slush. That's what we get around here, for the most part. We can get some massive snow dumps, but they're few and far between. That's what happens when you stick out in the ocean, near the Gulf Stream, like Nova Scotia does. It "moderates" the climate, i.e. makes it topsy turvy. Lotsa foggy days in summer, lotsa sleet, freezing rain and slush in winter. The freeze/thaw cycles make our roads look like the Western Front in 1917. I'd prefer a mountain of snow to that. There - I'm done. I feel better now.

I was born in Florida and the love the heat. I have been in the north for 30 years and still not used to this mess.

I've been to Sarnia, seemed nice. It was a very brief trip. I would love to get up to Nova Scotia sometime. In the summer mind you.

Being a Notre Dame fan, I wont let that stop me visiting the home of USC someday. SoCal looks beautiful.

That's a lot of snow. We just got about 7 inches and it's like the end of the world around here.

-15°C, HA! We laugh at temperatures like that. HA!

We have had -28°F air temperature with -83°F wind chill. Someone stole my car battery that time. At least they didn't cut the cables.

Suck it up, Buttercup! It doesn't get better with age, either.

When I was a freshman in college, one of the regulars in the study hall came in, shivering. That was understandable because it was windy and below 0°F but he was only wearing street shoes, pants, a dress shirt with a T-shirt under it and a Members Only jacket. We commented on how cold he was and how nasty it was outside. He just looked up, smiled and said "It's not how warm you are, it's how cool you look".
