I live in the mountains of So Cal. Every winter we get snow. I'm sure it doesn't get a crazy here as it does there, but it's not uncommon to get 1-3 feet of snow. I'm from Ohio where we got a bunch of snow every year. Like I said, I dont mind it. It's been about 20 degrees Fahrenheit here at night...with highs in the upper 30's to very low 40's.
I've always wanted to go to Canada. It looks awesome there.
I was in San Diego once, while I was in our navy. I left a lot cash in several of their fine drinking establishments. Feel free to come up and reciprocate!
I love snow - I hate sloppy slush. That's what we get around here, for the most part. We can get some massive snow dumps, but they're few and far between. That's what happens when you stick out in the ocean, near the Gulf Stream, like Nova Scotia does. It "moderates" the climate, i.e. makes it topsy turvy.
Lotsa foggy days in summer, lotsa sleet, freezing rain and slush in winter. The freeze/thaw cycles make our roads look like the Western Front in 1917. I'd prefer a mountain of snow to that. There - I'm done. I feel better now.
