Let's just agree that a Chargers victory this week would be nice.

I bet Saw's will have something to say about that:D! Don't know if I should start Rivers against the Eagles. Oh....wait a minute they lost to the Radiers last time they played a poor AFC west team....;):)

Should be a good game. I hope the Boys can beat the evil wretched packers. They did beat those scoundrels in Philly. Booing so much they deserved to see their team get beat. Give your team a chance to play for crying out loud.

You must have been watching a different game then me.

I wouldn't say winning with 21 seconds left in the game by 1 point is worthy of all the BULLSHIT your typing on this page.
Nope. What did I say that wasn't the truth? To Eli's credit, he played a lot better than I would have given him credit for. That 3rd and 18 conversion almost killed me. But I still say that Philip is the better QB. How many games has Eli won after throwing 2 picks and only getting 30 yards on the ground???? I'm going to say ZERO. The Giants strength was their running game and their defense. Now that both of those facets of their game aren't working, Eli can't overcome the defecit. Rivers can.

Merriman does indeed look to be back to his 07 form. He has gotten 2 sacks each in back to back games. He had drive killing sacks of Eli that were HUGE.

VJ and Gates did dominate your secondary, as I said they would. Just stating facts dude. As much as you might not like it, the truth is the truth.

It was indeed a very close game, but I think the very fact that the Bolts were able to win the game with the secondary not playing very well and getting almost nothing out of the run game shows how good this team can be.

Question for NY sports fans

I'm a Chargers fan because I grew up in San Diego.

But since you guys have 3 football teams and 2 baseball teams to choose from, how do you decide which team to give your allegaince to?

Buffalo is a 5 - 6 hour drive from here. They don't count.
Yanks and Giants are old school. People interested in tradition (and winning) like these two.

Jets & Mets are the new kids in town. Liberals who like underdogs (or loosing) like these two.:D

Not to mention 3 hockey teams and two NBA teams....

Mostly its based on who your parents root for, however its also a function of what era you grew up in. For example- I became a baseball fan while living on Long Island in the early to mid 80s, and EVERYBODY I knew were Mets fans. The Mets were the young/fun team, while the Yankees were stodgy. Kids who were Yankees fans used to get beat up after school- particularly after the Mets won the 86 world series. Interestingly enough, my dad is Yankees fan who grew up in Brooklyn in the 50s with a father who was a Brooklyn Dodgers fan and a mother who was a NY Giants fan.... talk about dinner table fights!

I became a football Giants fan because my dad was a Giants fan, and because Jets fans were viewed as lame. I'm became Nets and Devils fans when I moved to NJ at the age of 9 and starting following those sports.

I have a similar experience, but dealing with a whole state rather than just a city. I grew up in Austin, TX. We cheered for all the Texas teams in pro sports.

Now in College you picked sides. Texas was hated in our household(Dad is an Arkansas fan) So we had to choose another team. My brother picked A&M and I picked Baylor.

They moved to the SEC when I was a kid basically abandoning all their rivalries. In Basketball there was nobody that could even challenge them without significantly bad officiating. But Arkansas has a middle of the road football program. The SWC got pummeled hard by the NCAA in the 80s basically destroying the conference and all the tradition. It's the same junk that nearly happened to the SEC in the 90s.

It's good to see TCU on it's way backup. I think they could beat anyone in the nation this year. I think they play in the Rose Bowl this year too.

Baylor was were I watched my very first memorable football game. I was about 3 at the time and decided they were my team. Every program has it's ups and downs. Now we have a great coach again though so we should be on the way up again.

I am still in Mourning, first our Phillies had a hiccup, now the Birds have some form of "CHICKEN" influenza or something WTH is going on D Nabb has such huge kankles that he can no longer run for a two yard first down tackled by the toe nail , by a guy lying flat on his back, I'm still sic..

Steelers. They got Troy back and now there D is sick again.
My Wife is a steelers fan , well sorta of , she says their coach has the look of a true sporting coach, I guess she's right, lol ,

She really rooted heavily for them in the Bowl as she just can't stand the Cardinals also I gave her the whole Steagles story about the Pennsylvania teams joining together during world war deuce , and she was touched, :)
So now she thinks its OK to root for The Eagles and the Steeler team, I just let it go...

Wait! You've got it all backwards. The Pack may be wretched without a real O line, but the evil designation belongs to the Cowboys! America's team my @......:p I'm almost afraid to watch this week.

The Nets play closer to NYC than the Giants or Jets.

Sure, it's only about a half mile closer, but it's still closer ;)
