Looking good Matt,

That's a heck of a lot of sound for a room that size. Similar to my room, but more square (15x13 vs my 16x12). How does the VTF do in there? And how much did the SMS-1 help? I'm looking into one for myself(my subwoofer is in the same spot as well).

What surrounds are you running? BIC still? Does AV123 make surrounds similar to your BICs? Do you have any picture of the wall treatments?

As for the pictures, it isn't your fault. Get a tri-pod, you'll be able to take clear, clean pictures, regardless of lighting (camera settings can help too).

I took this one today in the dark.

If your camera allows, turn the ISO down to as low as possible and use as much lighting as you can. I find this gives a clearer picture.

One of the VTF-3s was plenty for that room, having two is just silly. The SMS-1 helped with a null and a couple peaks I had when I was running a single sub. I don't think it's a necessary tool but the real time feedback is very convenient. In all honesty though, I really haven't gotten around to fully understanding all of it's features.

I'm still running the BICs for surround. Once my X-SLS arrive I'll move the XL in the back on wall mounts. Currently there is nothing in the X-series line that compare to the BICs. They do have a "Omni" surround speaker called the X-S on the drawing boards but no release date atm.

I've actually went out and got a tripod, used the timer and still take crappy pics. My camera sucks and my room is very poorly lit. I'd have to bring in one of my huge shop lights from the garage to get the needed light this camera requires.:D

I'll check to see what my ISO is set at, thanks.

Some new pics of the man cave in all her standard def glory.;)

Going through some changes though. Have the Infinity Primus 362 as L/R now, currently awaiting a PC350 to replace the X-CS center. Picked up two Primus 142 off the Harmon Audio refurb store on ebay for surrounds. PS3 as my source and a new APC 15 power conditioner I picked up when they were on sale.

The current subs(still for sale;)) are being replaced by four DC12 (aka TC Sound) from Rythmic Audio. 2ft^3 sealed enclosures will be used as well as two Behringer EP2500 to power the quad setup.

You can see the edge of a box at the bottom right side of the picture, that's my LPA-1 that will be used for a "special" project.

Maybe Matt has a 2 channel system planned for a different room.

Matt,

I'm interested in hearing what your thoughts are on the PC350 as a center. I have one but have never had a chance to compare it to anything else of any substance. Your set up looks great. It's kind of like mine. :D At least as far as speaker/sub placement is concerned. ;)

Shhhh Mike.:p Yup, those will be used in a 2ch setup.

Alex,

I'm trying to win a refurb PC350 on Harmon's ebay site but I keep missing by a couple dollars. Thankfully they list another one immediately following the pervious auction....just a matter of time.;)

Now I'm off to deliver one of my recently sold HSU's.:D

Woot!

Won a factory refurb PC350 off ebay for $120 shipped.

The wife and I are having a crew come in tomorrow and measure the house for new carpet, tile and laminate wood flooring. I think I'm already feeling sick just thinking what this is going to cost me.

You got my attention with the flooring comment, as I have carpet samples laying around and will also be getting tile. Which company are you going with? I'm looking at Carpet One, but I don't know all that much about them. I'm thinking that I'll be paying around $10k+ once it's all said and done.

Thanks.

It's a local ma' and pa' shop as far as I know, "Sierra Flooring and Design". We are only going to keep carpet in the bedrooms, everything else will be the laminate wood flooring except the kitchen which will be porclian tile. We're going to leave the bathrooms as is for now. I'm really want to come in closer to 5k than 10k.:eek but at 2200sq/ft it's not looking promising.

Got my second 142 so the only thing I'm waiting on now is the center channel. My subs should be arriving tomorrow and I am getting together with a local enclosure builder that some of you in the car audio might know to build my boxes for the new subs.

One sub gone.:(

Critical listening.;)

Got the SoundBridge up and running, so far so good. Only one pause to buffer in about an hour's worth of play and that was right at the beginning.

I'm going to try and get this done in the next couple of days along with the BIC Acoustech Ht-75 since I still have them around.;) The XLS are playing T.V duty out in the living room just because they are so darn nice looking. No promises on how well it well turn out because like you, by your own admittance, I don't have a "golden ear".:D

A/B (ing) those centers is kind of a pain. I mean, where do you start? Do you isolate them so that you're not hearing them with drowned out by all the other channels? How you A/B them is of interest to me.

Matt,

With the 142's your x-over is 100Hz so the multiple X-over settings of that H/K will come in handy. Just want to point out that the 152's will easily do 80Hz and WmAx pointed out that the 152's did better with off axis response than the 142's and the 162's. Having said that I will add that I think the 142's sound amazing even as L&R mains especially when you consider there size. And you can blare the daylights out of them. :)

back in the day when i was interested in speakers but was just as lazy as i am now ... i used one channel per pair of speakers ... i.e. LEFT vs. LEFT

so in this case, the centers can maybe be placed vertically and used as a left channel :)

Matt:

Just wondering, how do you like the Infinity Towers? I have Primus 150s as my main L/R Speakers and I love them. Can't decide If I wanna move up to Towers or not. Great looking room BTW.

When did I say that?

The 152 will have superior off axis performance as compared to the 162. But the 142 will have as good or better off axis performance as compared to the 152.
