What a tranformation. As everyone knows around here, I am a BIG advocate of low profile AV credenzas. Your old setup really looked too large for the space, really restricted your speaker's breathing room, and its dark color really brought the whole room down with it.

Your knew setup looks SOOOO much cleaner, more acoustically friendly, and it much more enjoyable to the eye. The paint, although subtle, really added some interest and changed the atmosphere of the room too!

Great change for the better!!!!! Congratulations.

P.S. What did you do with the piano?

Hi Westcott,

Thanks very much! Yeah I've been quite pleased so far. It really did surprise me how much better things sounded when moving that entertainment center out of the way. The sound opened up so much. My guess is the old EC was absorbing alot of the sound.

Just a touch of color was added to the walls. It warmed up the atmosphere.

The piano is in another room now. My wife plays and teaches piano.

Seth V-Man that's means alot coming from you, after seeing your fabulous av empire! One of these days I'll be getting a BD player so I can enjoy the HD movies. But even SD DVD looks good on the plasma set. The PB13-Ultra makes me smile every day...not sure if it makes my neighbors smile though..:p

Thanks!
Thanks.;)

Yes once you go Blu-ray you are going to be so spoiled.:) I know that now I wish my whole collection of movies were in high def.

Too cool that you are having a lot of fun with your setup. I'll bet it sounds great with that media center gone. Like other have mentioned, I also really like the new paint.

Enjoy!

Yeah, I really have been enjoying it. The sub has really rounded things out nicely. The mains and center have really opened up. The old configuration really had the center boxed in, and it was absorbing alot of the sound from the mains too.

I hope to take the Blu-Ray plunge soon. It may be a while before I can enjoy the HD surround decoding from the newer receivers though. It wasn't easy getting the sub past my wife...;)

So, I have decided I just don't like having my speakers "covered" (grills on). They seem happier exposed.

I think they look great either way. But on my speakers I leave the grills on. Who knows when someone might poke the drivers.

Many thanks to you gentlemen. I go back and forth between using them or not. When company is over including children, the grills come out though!

Very good plan if there are any kiddos around. Here, it is not a problem as my daughter is 19 and lives w/her mom.

Cheers,

Newest addition

Well I finally found a miniature bonsai tree to sit on top of the Ultra! I've honestly been looking around for some time and beleive it or not I found it at Wally World!!

The top of the Ultra has been in need of some decor as the corner seemed bare. This is tree was what I was after.

Had to post some new pics (not musch has changed other than adding the little tree).

That is a very nice touch, Mr. Miyagi (I mean, croseiv :))! Seriously, I really like that.

How often do those need to be trimmed and maintained?

Thanks Adam! It's artificial, so it never needs anything except the occasional dusting.

Sweet! I was wondering if it was artificial (seeing as how you bought it at Wal-Mart).

Just so you realize, you'll need to get a real one in about 1000 posts. ;)

Honestly, I don't think a live one would do too well in this placement. So far, I've tried two plants on my other sub (PSW-650), and they both died? I wonder if the magnetic field is the issue? Possibly they didn't like my music?:D I did take care of them other than the placement.

My guess is the Ultra's field would be considerably stronger. Just a theory though.

When Tradius let fall his sword, it echoed throughout your system. :p

Beautiful!

So the bonsai tree said to me; croseiv you must achieve more bass! So I followed its advice, and soon a new Ultra will spring forth (looking at dual PB13-Ultras)!!!

Also, a new BD player to help push the bass with the new HD formats will be added...:)
