So Ultra #2 should ship tomorrow. I hope it will be in town by Saturday. If so, I'll go pick it up. Pics to come!!! I'm imagining a nice Ultra stack. So this should give me an extra 6 dB to play with (isn't that another way of saying I can go twice as loud?). It should fill in the corner nicely.

Just need to get a Sony BDP550 and I'll be set!

The biggest attraction for me to get a 2nd sub would be to even out room response. That would be pretty cool for me.

At this point I really like how the one sounds in the corner there. I will start with the second one stacked and see what happens. One slams....what will two do? I'm a little frightened, but in a good way..

Woohoo!!! That is awesome! You must live pretty close to get it the next day. Two of those bad boys - that is going to be an experience.

One Ultra is great! Two Ultras are sick!!!!! SPL galore!!!! Been calibrating and listening/watching. Huge difference really. Watched some familiar bass scenes in Iron Man, Ratatouille so far. All I can say is holy crap man!

Been watching Iron Man. Several scenes in the movie are phenominal when it comes to bass! The scene where he comes out of the cave (prototype suit) in chapter 5 is unbelievable. I thought one did it justice. There's this whole low end ripple effect and shaking with the duals man. I'm all goose pimply. I think I have them dialed in nicely. It sure does sound good so far.

I must climb the mountain and find the temple of Mike. There I will meditate on what we mere mortals call "bass."

I have to say that I really like the sound of the 1015 with my Polks. That's why I've been less inclined to rush out and upgrade it to the newer receivers just yet. With the new wave of BD players offering analog outs, I think I'll keep the 1015 around for a little longer. Throw in 1500 watts of power from the dual Ultras and I'll be okay for at least another year or so.

I'm really surprised at how much more a second Ultra has added. I mean we're talking truly palpable, clean lowend. I have not noticed any of the chuffing seen with a single Ultra. I guess the load is now shared and it has reduced the work each sub must do to play bass how I like it.

Awesome! I'll take it. I followed your advice and I'm glad I did. Absolutely sweet sounding. I'm getting 6dB gain from the stack over one as measured by SPL meter. I've lowered the receiver's sub level by 3 dB so I'm running 3 dB hot.
