I'd wager the life expectancy rate has a larger correlation to diet and lack of exercise, especially in younger Americans. Our schools have all but cut out physical education and electronic devices have captured our youth.

My daughter, while active on devices, understands the need for physical activity and is fortunate to have good genes, as she eats everything and never gains a pound, lol.

What happened here is the deadly COVID pandemic with a population that had a resistance to COVID vaccines and other measures that was mostly politicized in US. Sweden had only a small drop and then recovered. From the tables for US it's clear that US women are smarter than US men.
