Supertramp had some excellent albums and very well recorded. Sound good on CD or streaming. I have 2 different copies of Crime of the Century including the 1st Edition released on CD and it sounds great.

I've got a Mobil Fidelity of Crime of the Century vinyl that I got in the late '70's or early '80's. I don't expect that I played it more than once. In those days I would make a copy on cassette and play the cassette until it was time to make a new cassette.

Most of my vinyls after around 1978 were only played once.

I bought a Roku Streaming Stick, 4k version with TV control with volume and a voice remote for a song.

Earlier I bought an "Express" non-4K version cheap, but the remote lacked those features. The reason I bought them, other than I like to play around with technical toys, was that one of my Brothers was considering cancelling Satellite TV at our Family Cabin on Paul Lake here in BC, as the provider was making noises of a very substantial cost increase. We have seasonal internet at the Cabin, so I was looking at this as a cheap option for when I'm there.

Long story made short, my Brother cut a new 2 year deal at a little less than his current package costs; so the alternative solution isn't going to be needed for the main TV there. But there is a 32 inch Toshiba in the "Penthouse" (that's what I call the 2nd floor suite we had built over a decade ago) that we think the drywaller (sheet rock installer for our US members) ran a screw into the cable going to the suite as we can't get the Satellite feed to work there. My Mom stays in the suite when she's there, so I'm going to try the Roku up there when I go there next week to "winterize" the place.

I've got both Rokus working (easy) along with Netflix, Crave, Disney+, TSN, Prime, etc., (all the Channels /Apps we pay extra for on our Cable / Internet package at home). I'll probably put Apple TV on it if my Mom wants her subscription on it, as I don't have it.

I'm blown away how well these Roku streamers work, and the immense amount of channels you can get for free. I'll have to use Apple Airplay to watch some NHL Hockey, as the Roku doesn't have a Sportsnet Channel App. The ability to use Airplay was one of the reasons I went with Roku. No wonder folks are cutting the Cable / Satellite TV cord these days.

Hopefully you live in an area with lots of local OTA signals available. I hear folks often combine an Antenna with a Roku (or other Streamer) and it works well for them. Good Luck with your cable cutting!
That what I did. We were paying for multiple streaming services and paying way too much for cable so I bought digital antennas for each TV and use the fire stick too.

My 9 yr old 55" Samsung backlit LED 4k TV started showing signs of impending failure. I got one spot, then a few weeks later another with the backlighting going to full-on. After two weeks of that annoyance, time to upgrade.

Went with 65" Samsung QLED and our son came over to help install it. Grateful for the help!

The latest channel scan I did returned about 95 channels, way more than I had with basic cable. Many are shopping, and foreign language but at least not paying for them anymore! Next cord & cost cut will be dumping the landline phone.

95 Channels would be amazing! :p

I've been trying to get the Misses to let me cut the Landline for years! We both have Cells so it seems stupid to pay money every month just for Crank Calls. o_O

I hear you. For years the cable company kept up the bundle pricing where it was cheaper to keep the landline than to drop it. Talk about lack of value. Paying less to keep something you don’t want. Cables business model is terrible IMO.

I purchased this rare Yamaha EQ for $275 including shipping because of a minor dent on the bottom left of the EQ.

We've had the same number for many years so I went with a Magic Jack. $35 a year for IP telephone module. Canadians pay an extra yearly charge to have a Canadian phone number but I don't mind paying $70 a year to have an emergency line. Answering machine screens the crank calls. ;)

Just received something I bought of eBay from a Canadian seller, and they shipped it quickly for a very reasonable cost. These particular headshells are rare, because Jelco went out of business in 2021 and they're not making any more. This is identical to the original which came with the new old-stock Jelco TS-550S tonearm that I had bought for my Luxman PD-171 turntable earlier this year. Only the HS-50R Mk2 has the Jelco logo on it like this one and my original one do. I have an Audio Technica AT33 Mono cartridge due in soon, so timing is excellent.

It's powder-coated die-cast aluminum alloy, and comes with braided silver Litz wires.

75" looks like it would have fit :D
Nope, a 70" would be the biggest possible, though I would have had to move the wall mount up or it would cover the center speaker. Limited budget, and it's not a priority to have the ideal stuff there because it's rarely used for movies.

If it was "our thing" I would still have a very complete set of KEF R series floorstanding speakers, center speaker, surrounds and Atmos-enabled 5.2.2 in that room, and not the downsized. 5.2 system of KEF T series you see in the photos.

That's what suits us, and we're very pleased with it.
